This is Radioheads magnum opus. Honestly this is probably the magnum opus for the entirety of alternative rock. Ok Computer is unbelievable. No band has progressed so much in only 3 albums as Radiohead. They started with an album that got them called a one hit wonder, followed that up with an incredible album that improved on every aspect of Pablo Honey, and then they released possibly the most acclaimed album of all time except for maybe Tpab. Every single song on this album hits. Airbag is one of the best album openers of all time. The riff is so unbelievably catchy. Paranoid android is one of the best songs period. It genuinely feels like watching a movie with your ears and is definitely the best on the album. Subterranean Homesick Alien is incredibly relaxing especially after the insane first 2 tracks. Exit Music possibly has the best climax in a discography of a band known for their incredible climaxes. Let Down is litterally THE most uplifting song ever made. Only thing that comes close is Storm by GYBE. Karma Police is one of Radioheads most popular songs and that’s for a good reason. It is incredible. Fitter Happier is absolutely terrifying and the best interlude ever made. Electioneering, while I don’t think it fits the album quite as good as the rest of the tracklist, is still a great song that fits the albums theme perfectly. I would prefer Man of War in its spot though. Climbing Up the Walls is so underrated and another one that scares the shit out of me. It was used incredibly in the show Yellowjackets too (along with Street Spirit). No Surprises is one of the dreariest and most depressing songs to come out of 90s rock. Funny how it’s in the same album as Let Down. Lucky is another great climax and riff even if it’s one of the weakest on the album. Finally The Tourist is one of the best ends to an album you can get. It doesn’t end the album with something insane like Ants From Up There. Instead it ends with a slow calming song that allows you to think about the absolute masterpiece that your ears just bared witnesses to. It then ends the album with a ding which satisfies me beyond belief for no reason at all. This album is THE defining album of the 90s and easily the most important album in the career of possibly the most important rock band of all time. Also the picture used on the cover was taken in my state so that gives it bonus points.
Edit: damn when did this drop to #4?
