My favorite Portishead song changed 3 times while listening to this
I’ve been on a pretty long review hiatus recently so sorry about that. One of my reviews (don’t ask which one I have no clue) was deleted and I was going to review How Big How Blue How Beautiful to get back to 999 reviews before my 1000th. However I saw Nine Inch Nails a few nights ago and it was right up there with Gybe as the best concert I’ve ever seen so I think this would be a bit more appropriate given the timing. Again sorry about those Quadeca reviews I’ve been ... read more
The part on the version from the long goodbye where he says to tell the truth this could be the last time followed by the crowd erupting in cheers is one of the greatest moments in the history of music
Some of the greatest songwriting ever. The third verse especially is maybe a top 5 verse ever. Not to mention the outro which is one of the most breathtaking things I’ve ever heard. Just all around one of the greatest songs ever made.
I don’t think this could’ve dropped at a better time. I think by now everyone knows about the political assassination that happened Wednesday and I’ve been seeing a lot of really mixed reception on it. I think it’s given me a completely new perspective on the political spectrum and how people view the other side. We as a country are so incredibly divided. I was already realizing it but seeing so many people celebrate the death of someone on the other side, me included at ... read more
I’m so sorry but both those Quadeca reviews aren’t coming out for a few weeks at least this game is going to take over my life goodbye guys
I guess one of the releases I reviewed got deleted so I kinda gotta do a review before my 1000th
So yeah this song is like nails on a chalkboard I hate it so much
I’m gonna fucking cry dude I’m so happyπ
Review will be out once I stop procrastinating
Albums I need to listen to to finish the AOTY top 100 - #45 (finale)
I love music. I think that’s kind of the base requirement to being on this site but idk a lot of people seem to forget that a lot. Deep down through all the rating discourse and drama we’re all just a bunch of people that love music. I don’t really think there’s an album that shows that better on here than this. I don’t think anyone really hates this album. It’s some of the happiest, most ... read more

This is some of the most impassioned, grand, and just downright gorgeous jazz I have ever heard. From start to finish there is just so much going on but it never sounds chaotic or overdone. It’s incredibly emotional and has some of the most beautiful segments I’ve ever heard in jazz. The horns on this album especially stood out, which I guess they’re the normal standout on jazz records but like especially here. They ... read more
She genuinely makes some of the most visceral and horrifying music I’ve ever heard. Her lyrics are super blunt and paint an incredibly clear portrait of violence. At some points this record gets straight up apocalyptic, it is absolutely insane. Sonically this is a really cool combination of chamber music and death industrial. It’s incredibly atmospheric and gets shockingly beautiful at points. The last song especially is just absolutely jaw dropping. This whole album really is jaw ... read more

This is groovy as fuck. Talking Heads is one of the most unique bands to come out of the 80s. David Byrnes vocals and mannerisms are really interesting and weird in the best way possible. I definitely preferred the tracklist here to the tracklist on remain in light. It starts off a bit more awkward that remain in light but it hits a really nice groove by burning down the house and stays really good for the rest of the album. The ... read more
J Cole is an artist I’ve been meaning to check out for a while. This is an album that I’ve seen heavily praised in the hip hop community so I figured it would be a good starting point and yea this is absolutely incredible. So many songs on here are just absolute classics in terms of both production and story telling. These beats are really smooth and relaxing and really feel like something you can just vibe too really easily. The album has a really nice story of Cole’s come up ... read more
Simz is absolutely one of the best hip hop artists making music right now and this is yet another fantastic addition to her discography. Instrumentally this is much more stripped back than I was expecting. It really highlights the deep insightful lyrics. This is an absolute joy to pick apart lyrically and it has some great stuff to say about mental health. While I did say the production is stripped back I think it highlights even further the grand and beautiful parts that are sprinkled in here, ... read more
