Best front page pull I’ve ever had
This is one of the most well produced hip hop albums I’ve heard from this decade. The mix is so crowded and there is constantly so much going on yet it is still really easy to pick out each and every element that goes into it. The vocals are easy to make out which is incredibly impressive with the insane instrumentals. The hooks are incredibly soulful and almost reminiscent of the roots at times. Some of these tracks are just absolutely gorgeous ... read more
Country is a genre that I’m really not too familiar with. I had only heard 2 country albums before this (Magnolia Electric co and This Empty Northern Hemisphere). My knowledge on the genre is actually so limited I didn’t even know of Zach Bryan’s existence until yesterday. I think I’ve always just subconsciously associated him with Luke Bryan whenever I heard anything about him and dismissed it. I had obviously heard a few of his songs, which I actually thought were ... read more
I love 808s but this really does just blow it out of the water. I don’t know what took me so long to get to it. This is easily some of Kanye’s best work. It is an improvement on the studio album in every single way. First of all these live versions all have much more orchestral instrumentals to them making the album even more beautiful than it already was. They also patch up what may be more boring moments on the album like Bad News, creating grand and beautiful pieces of art. These ... read more
Bit bloated towards the back end (like every other cloud rap album I’ve ever heard) but this is easily the best I’ve heard from the genre. So many incredible songs.
Two really solid trap songs. It’s extremely short but enjoyable for what it is.
This is like Star Wars with rhymes instead of lightsabers
So yea this is maybe the most fun I’ve had with any hip hop album ever. The concept is executed in such a fresh and unique way, it almost feels like a prog concept at points. The production, matching the concept, is futuristic and still way ahead of its time. The flows are some of the best I’ve ever heard, and when combined with the clever and satirical wordplay, it creates one of the most interesting and awe inspiring ... read more
Really enjoyable debut. You can definitely tell her songwriting and production have improved a ton but there are definitely hints towards the highs she reaches later in her career. I definitely want to go through her discography because Only Dust Remains absolutely blew me away and she looks pretty consistent.
Shit bangs but I had to rewind a few times bc the songs are so short and I genuinely didn’t even notice the song changedπ
Pretty cool album probably didn’t get the full effect cause I don’t do drugs tho
This is some of the most entrancing music I’ve ever heard. It’s just so easy to get lost in this albums endless beauty it’s insane. From start to finish this is easily the most beautiful album to come out this year. Super pleasantly surprised.
Apparently the pope dropped today too but WHO GIVES A FUCK WE’RE GETTING THE FUCKING ALBUM
So I was fine with leaving this joke review for the first few days since this came out but I’ve had this song on repeat and it’s genuinely become one of my favorite songs of the decade. This absolutely deserves a full review. Look Down On Us starts with a 2 and a half minute rap rock piece. This section of the song is so intense and has some of the best political commentary I’ve ... read more
I definitely don’t think this was the best album to start with for Billy Woods but it was cool. Lyrically this albums focuses on several dark themes ranging from politically charged commentary to personal and tragic events throughout Woods life. Production wise this album is pretty versatile and some of it works for me and some of it I just find kinda uninteresting. I think the albums at its best when the beats are jazzier or more unsettling like in tracks like A Doll Fulla Pins or Make ... read more
