This is only my second bjork album (I’m getting around to homogenic don’t worry I have a reason I’m holding off on listening) and I think this one about met my expectations. I listened to vespertine for the first time a while ago when I was first getting into pop. Since then it has had a lot of time to grow on me and it’s even entered into my top 20 albums. While I don’t feel like this is as good as vespertine I do think this is another very strong album. It is yet another gorgeous album with some fantastic songs like hyperballed and army of me. I do feel like it isn’t as consistent as verpertine and that there are a few duds in the tracklist (in particular the last two songs) but they don’t take away from my impression of the album too much. The highlights here really are beautiful and even the lesser tracks do manage to be pretty beautiful despite essentially being filler. I do really like the album, just not as much as vespertine which I did expect. For what it is it’s just a fun and beautiful album. Also bjork is still mommy.
