Not only did this album have the first ever song I ever gave a -0, but it had TWO. BACK TO BACK.
Just because you can make music doesn't mean you should.
I'm waiting for the day Tommy McDonald's grifts himself down the Anti-Semitism route so I don't have to hear his awful music again.
Also fuck you, transphobes.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #14 ~ TikTok Song
Okay, we finally got something good for once. Despite dating the song with it's topical references about TikTok stars Charli D'Amelio, Addison Rae (including being sexist towards both), and Lil Huddy, it's probably the song I'm most proud of production wise. Everything is so professional and clean and I love it to bits.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #13 ~ idk lol
I feel very mixed about this track to be honest. This is one half pretty decent lyrical showcase, where I actually have some decent bars mixed in with my usual dreck that completely hampers the enjoyment of the pre-2021 songs, and the second half where it turns into an incomprehensible sound collage that sounds more annoying than it does funny. It's the track where I have the least feelings for it.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #12 ~ T.D. (Remix)
This is not the worst thing I've ever made, but it's not really anything impressive or interesting. There's actually a lot of clever lines here, but the whole thing falls apart when I start to diss Flex Entertainment artists at the very end of the song. Also, look at that, a teaser for an album that never even happened. How wonderful!
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #11 ~ OK Drill
Can you tell I listened to a lot of Pop Smoke in the Summer of 2020? The one thing that brings this up a couple points is the autotuned humming in the background (Which was ripped off wholesale from Lil Tjay's contribution on the Pop Smoke song "War"), but everything else doesn't work. Poor mixing, shitty nonsensical lyrics, there's one okay bar in here (It has dated this song an egregious amount though), but one half-decent bar isn't ... read more
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #10 ~ Take That
Out of every pre-2021 song I've recorded, this is the one that has held up the most. Ableism and Homophobia aside, the lyrics are really fun and energetic, the beat is heavy and makes the track flow very good. I also still chuckle at the "Take That" towards Internet YouTube lyrical rappers. Probably my best work so far.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #9 ~ Dafuq
This song is lazy. The autotune is better than on "mistake..." but nothing here is fun to listen to. It's one half generic melodic Trap (which was still the style at the time), and one half Playboi Carti knockoff. A fun fact more interesting than the track itself was that I recorded the Carti knockoff part after sucking the helium out of one of my birthday balloons (This song was recorded a couple days after my 21st Birthday) and fully ... read more
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #8 ~ Before The Life and Times
This was intended to be an EP that was supposed to follow with an album called "The Life and Times of J-E-N-O-V-A" that was then scrapped due to personal reasons involving the COVID 19 pandemic. Here we have 2 already released tracks, 1 redone track (That does sound better than the original by a country mile), and 3 original tracks [2 original tracks, Flea Market is another rerecording of an old 2019 song that got deleted ... read more
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #7 ~ mistake...
The beat carries this tremendously. While this song was intended to be a venting song first and foremost, the autotune is unbearable and I sound less like a person trying to get shit off of his chest and more like a whiny piss baby mad about things that were under his control the whole time. It's also a nothing song. 2 hooks, one verse. That seems to be a theme with my music. Songs that don't have any solid structures.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #6 ~ No Joke
This one has some bounce and some fun energy, but I gotta admit, I now hate the fact I made repetitive choruses. I had some witty bars here and there, but a lot of the points get docked when we get into the feature verse, IE: GENNARO's. I really hope he's able to see this (which idk if he will), because I really hope he realizes the Transphobia (even for this time period) was not needed.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #6 ~ Whores on Boards
Alright this is actually not that bad. A remix of the Pusha T track "Numbers on The Boards", It's got a lot of decent cadences and flows, nothing here is offbeat nor cringe inducing, plus that Raiden/Raid-in' bar was pretty clever. Though I dock it some points for my reactionary chud attitude and wannabe Eminem tendencies. It's not the worst thing I've ever made by any means, but it's still not what I consider my peak.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #5 ~ Kunoichi
This is embarrassing. I just want to complete stab my ears hearing myself talk about my disgusting weeaboo fantasies. Though what I chose for a beat was good, and I'm (mostly) on beat, but that's not enough to redeem this song to me. Also why the fuck did I pitch my voice lower? That made no sense.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #4 ~ Whatever (Offbeat 2)
I made a fucking sequel, but like Shrek 2 and Toy Story 2, this is actually a much needed improvement. The joke had fully ran it's course by then as Blueface's popularity level was starting to dwindle around this song's release, I'm a lot more clever with my lyrics here, a shocker because I've only been rapping half-a-year at that point, and I'm able to at least sound confident over the mic than I did in earlier songs. It's still not ... read more
Reviewing My Shitty Old Music #3 ~ Faucet Failure (Remix)
Holy fuck, I'm actually on beat this time. Also, in 2019 another one of my favorite rappers was Ski Mask The Slump God, and here I am trying to emulate his style. This song is a 500cc injection of Pop Culture "bars" that don't connect whatsoever, but it's the first song in this little self-reflection that I actually consider decent, but that's all it is. Decent. It ain't good, that's for sure.
I wanna punch 2019 me in the ... read more
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #2 ~ Offbeat
Painfully unfunny parody of Blueface back when he was actually relevant. Ironically enough, he was one of my favorite rappers during that time because I still hadn't developed my music taste. Every single lyric is complete nonsense and nothing here works nor connects well together. It's just a collection of word soup that I thought was the greatest thing since sliced bread back in 2019. Instant skip.
Reviewing My Old Shitty Music #1 ~ numb
Jesus. The mic quality. I'm not on beat at all, though I can see some semblance of decency with the harmonization of the original chorus, this is a nothing song. Then again, this is one of my first ever released songs. So, I can at least give it that leeway. It's still bad though.
FLEX ENTERTAINMENT DEEP DIVE #1 ~ Beetlebat - BE DUMB BRO (2022)
I love the vibe this album gives off. It feels very clean and commercial, but at the same time very wild, interesting, and experimental. Lil Squeaky in his review describes it as "Outsider Pop Rap" and that's the exact description that this project gives off. Beetlebat's style of rapping and his flows have bounce and wit, where you can tell in every track that the energy is at a fever pitch and Beetlebat is having a lot ... read more
