LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: There's Nothing Left Here for You
I'm a really big Mitski fan (and I was before she blew up on TikTok don't ever get it twisted I was 11 listening to Townie). But, for some reason, I wasn't really looking forward to this and I didn't listen to any of the singles. Then I saw no one talking about it on social media which deterred me from listening to it even more. But here I am now!
I actually really like this album. The best parts of this album are the fun and lively songs like Stay Soft, The Only Heartbreaker, Love Me More and That's Our Lamp. Should've Been Me is so catchy and different from anything in Mitski's discography. And the lyrics on each track are so romantic and fun.
As for the other tracks, I would say they don't stand out as much but there are shining moments. The synth on Valentine, Texas is beautiful. Her voice sounds wonderful on this whole album but a standout is definitely Heat Lightning. Tracks like There's Nothing Left Here for You and Everyone, though, feel forgettable in the scope of the album.
