FAVORITE TRACKS: Sober, Writer in the Dark

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Supercut

Realized I never wrote an official review for this album um oops. Melodrama shook my world when it came out. It had been years since a new Lorde project and Melodrama feels like a matured, art pop version of the Lorde I loved it.

Returning to this album 3 years after release, Melodrama really is Lorde’s adult outlook on life. It’s sad and dark but it’s covered up in the fake love and happiness you ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: My Agenda

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Give Great Thanks

yeah it’s been awhile i’ve been busy but i’m back. and new dorian electra yay !!!

So I personally wasn’t a big fan of Electra’s first project Flamboyant but singles like Gentleman and M’Lady and his part on the 100 gecs remixes made me excited for this project. My Agenda feels like elfcore music and honestly i didn’t think that would be a genre i was searching for but now that i have ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Love to Hate Me

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: You Never Know

Let me make this very clear: this is nowhere near the best thing I've ever heard. The lyrics are cheesy, the beats are pretty generic, the features on this are pretty bland and You Never Know is a terrible song- but my God is this album catchy.

The Album is an 8 song LP so it's so easy to listen to. I catch myself replaying it constantly because looping it is so simple. How You Like That, Ice Cream, Pretty Savage and Love ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Sanctuary

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Pretty Boy

Joji's second full-length is... full. There's so much content on Nectar. The problem is: it's not all good content. In the past, my main issue with Joji is that his instrumentals can be so lackluster and just make the songs blend together. Joji has a great voice but because of his droney sound, he needs a beat that can carry him through and just elevate him. Nectar really lacks that aspects and 90% of these tracks just blend into one ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: War

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: A Hymn

I was really excited for this one. Idles quickly became one of my favorite bands after i heard Joy as an Act and I’ve really enjoyed all of the singles leading up to this record- minus A Hymn. The bar was set high for this record and they delivered.

Ultra Mono is fast paced, loud and politically charged. I really respect Joe Talbot’s personal politics and the ones he brings into his music are a great take on privilege and being a ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Why Am I the One

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: One Foot

Hi hi sorry for the lack of review college has been crazyyyy. I've been making a list of albums I need to review but for some reason this album has become inescapable as of the past few weeks since I moved in and made new friends so I feel I need to review it.

I don't have much to say about Some Nights or We Are Young that people haven't said already. They aren't great but they're both so nostalgic. Carry On sounds like the ... read more

bro im not reviewing this album as I refuse to listen to it but I just want to say that I go to school with the son of 6ix9ine's lawyer and he's a cool dude and a few days ago he showed me a video 6ix9ine took for him saying they should hang out. I'm sure that fact is more interesting than this entire project, though.

FAVORITE TRACK: Blue Ribbon

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None I guess

This EP is only 3 tracks and they're all remakes of old songs and they're fine. These were there last of the remakes before Remo switched directions in sound so it does have a reminiscent sound of the rebellion that came with Greatest Hits but the three songs are kinds just there?? Like they don't add much to Remo's overall discography. It is a project worth skipping if you feel the need to ignore it.

FAVORITE TRACK: Pressure to Party

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Convention

Julia Jacklin's sophomore album proves that sometimes less is more with a stripped yet complex album. Even the more upbeat tracks on this are laced with a layer of sadness, such as Head Alone and Pressure to Party. Jacklin's voice carries the project, though. The quivering in her voice and the bounciness of it is completely mesmerizing. At the very end of Turn Me Down, her voice is so timid and shaky but polar opposite to the ... read more

FAVORITE SONG: Headwind

LEAST FAVORITE SONG: Ring

Revisiting this album and I believe it really is an underrated gem. I didn't see it getting a lot of attention when it dropped so I wanna give it a proper review now. White Reaper is a band from Louisville that sounds like a band that formed and released this album in the mid 1990s. It has a vibe very similar to Enema of the State and The Blue Album that rock and power pop doesn't really encapsulate anymore. Their songs feel like triumphant ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Run for Your Life

Apparently I'm the only person who didn't know this but did ya'll know the dude who played Marquis de Lafayette in Hamilton is the lead of this group?? Literally nothing could prepare me for the shock of watching Hamilton with my roommates and hearing his voice and realizing I know him from the music he makes about killing people.

There Existed an Addiction to Blood initiates fear which is an emotion an album has never made me ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Corner of My Sky

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Melt!

Atmospheric and modest, Kelly Lee Owens' new LP feels like a dream. The songs are rich and relaxing with beautiful vocals on the tracks that include it and enough life in its instrumentals to give even those who don't like all-instrumental music something to love. Inner Song is a soft and inviting art album that gives such a powerful vibe through its production and sound to give a unique techno experience.

FAVORITE TRACK: You Better Believe!!!

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Beautiful Faces if I had to choose

This is my most anticipated album of the year. What Do You Think About the Car? is a perfect record in my eyes and the singles I've heard for this album so far have maybe been the best songs I've ever heard from McKenna. So I really wasn't expecting anything short of excellence from Zeros.

And I got more than what I expected.

I have never felt more shocked by a release in my life. I imagine this ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Come Over

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Feel This Way

So I've been really excited for this because I am a huge Supermega fan. Matt Watson's Ouch! is, in the nicest way, a bit of a let down. Ouch! isn't bad instrumental wise but the vocals seem to weigh this project down. Watson is not the best singer and that becomes very apparent throughout this album but on tracks like Margie and Come Over, it's made up for with cute beats and relaxing instrumentals. Some tracks like Nokia fall ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Starz

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Put Me in a Spell

Starz is a droney rap album masked in this cloudy and lofi sound. The album has its moments like the angry sound of My Agenda and the spacey sound of Starz but this album is long-winded and it would be much more enjoyable if the album was just cut in half.

FAVORITE TRACK: Yum Yumm

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: 200 Grams

So The Pom-Poms is husband and wife duo Kitty & Sam Ray. Kitty has been pretty big in the hyper pop club scene for a few years now and Sam Ray is the frontman of teen suicide. As a huge teen suicide fan, I was not pleased with the turn in sound the band & Sam Ray have taken as of recently. Past Pom-Poms project really haven't impressed me but I Was on the News seems to be the duos' step in the right direction.

I Was on the ... read more

Fuck Fantano all my homies hate Fantano !!

So redveil has been on my radar for a few years because he’s a friend of a friend so I was excited to hear this and then the entire Fantano discourse happened and honestly I became more excited to listen.

The most striking thing about Niagara is how well-produced it is. This is redveil’s first full length but it sounds like a professional made it. It does have a strong Earl ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Never Really Over

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Harleys in Hawaii

I was really rooting for this album. Katy Perry's last album was, in lack of a better term, god fucking awful. But hearing Never Really Over last year, I thought maybe Perry would be on the upswing with the release of songs like that. But Smile proves that Katy Perry really doesn't have what it takes anymore to be a frontrunner in the pop world.

It'a not that Smile is bad or Katy Perry is a bad singer, it's just that ... read more

FAVORITE TRACK: Where to Start

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Like Fire

Bully's third full length is nothing new for the band as Alicia Bognanno stays pretty much consent with past projects. This album feels a bit long at times and would be more solid had 3 or so tracks been cut and if more flavor had been added to SUGAREGG. But Bully does their punk-inspired, alternative rock sound well and are a blueprint for what most bands in this genre should sound like. It's nothing special in the eyes of ... read more
