a lot of what this album offers strikes me as a bit pretentious. was expecting a bit more from this one considering the wait. this wasn’t a step backwards for keem but not as big of a step forward as i was hoping. there are some high highs in here like the absolute banger of a title track and a pretty great introspective song “i am not a lyricist”, and i still enjoyed the album overall, but i expected keem to go bigger and more ambitious on this one than the melodic blue and i think he did the opposite on this one. the melodic blue is in my ... read more

my favorite album from earl since Some Rap Songs. earls pen game is still top notch and these beats are absolutely heavenly
fav tracks: Gamma (need the <3), Static, CRISCO, Heavy Metal aka ejecto seato!, exhaust
a lot of the songs here bleed together quite a bit with pretty much the same minimal instrumental palette throughout and the singles that dropped for this are probably my favorite songs here but by no means was this a bad listen. Mac’s songwriting is still just as good as it’s always been
