It was very overrated, about a third of the songs were extremely sexist, a third were boring, and a third were some of the better hiphop songs I’ve ever heard.

This record really shined in its beats, flow, and production (especially when Kanye was producing,) however its lyrics are abysmal and I couldn’t look past that.

My favorite song on the album is also the only song that really blew me away: “Never Change”

His sophomore album and home to one of his biggest hits, Late Registration is quite good but compared to some of his later work leaves you wanting a more concise record. The 80 minute runtime leaves you wishing that he had cut some of the more lackluster tracks or parts of songs that drag on. The highs on this album are very high and the lows are not very low. Hey Mama is one of my personal favorite tracks from Kanye.

Love the classroom segments and the intro, iconic album, and very influential and ceiling-shattering
