Geese - Getting Killed

Cameron Winter has a generational voice

For Those I Love - Carving the Stone

Wonderful. Dave Balfe with an even more impressive record than his first

Loyle Carner - hopefully !

He’s gone 4 / 4. Superb, again

Geordie Greep - The New Sound
85

Sounds exactly how you’d expect a Geordie Greep solo effort to sound: briilliantly pretentious and sonically excellent, with absurdists lyrics and compelling storytelling.

My only criticism is that this could easily have been a Black Midi record and would be better for it, as in places it missed the bite added so effectively by Picton and Simpson.

Famous - Party Album

Pretty good! Doesn’t blow you away but a good crop of tracks

Charli xcx - Brat and it's completely different but also still brat

Some land better than others but as a whole project it really feels like a lot is added with these remixes

Honeyglaze - Real Deal

Consistent and charming

Wunderhorse - Midas

Was really surprised just how much I love this album. I like Wunderhorse a lot and Cub is great, but they’ve way exceeded my expectations here. The album tracks maintain the high level set by the singles, and in some cases like Superman even surpass them. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it is near enough a perfect execution of an indie rock record that incorporates other elements without wearing it’s influences too heavily. Really, really good record

Oasis - Definitely Maybe

The boys are back.

Fontaines D.C. - Romance

Fontaines DC have been my favourite band for 5 years now, and life would genuinely be very different without them. It’s been great watching them grow and mature as a band, and this latest record exemplifies that expansion in their sound. They are clearly still finding their feet in their venture into this new territory, and some tracks dont land quite as well as others, but those that do REALLY land - Starburster, Death Kink and Favourite being the highlights. Confident that their next ... read more

SOFT PLAY - HEAVY JELLY

Carried by the singles, but good to have the boys back nonetheless

KNEECAP - Fine Art
85

Exceeded expectations. Production is fantastic

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future

Sufficiently depressing

The Libertines - All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade
75

While the energy might not be what it once was (understandably), the songwriting remains excellent

Master Peace - How To Make A Master Peace
70

Overproduced in places and some of the lyrics are a bit on the nose, but on the whole a good indie record

The Smile - Wall of Eyes

Personally prefer the first album, but this is still very good. Bending Hectic is the bands best song

MGMT - Loss of Life

"It straddles a few different sub genres but broadly I’d say punk/noise with some electronic and spoken word elements thrown in :)"
