Maisie Peters - Florescence
95

the unapologetic and slightly manic good witch has fallen in love! florescence (a word i’ve finally gotten the spelling down for) is maisie’s third installment to her impressive lineup of albums, and she is offering up a new, yet welcome, sound, while also returning to her acoustic-driven roots. the thesis statement for the album would be about all the different ways love alters someone, whether it’s enjoying spending time with a loved one and imagining the future, or ... read more

Zara Larsson - Midnight Sun: Girls Trip
93

why’s the user score so low 😃

Holly Humberstone - Cruel World
81

she was cute!! a lot of great things happening here that i throughly enjoyed. holly’s an artist that’s been on my radar for a while because of her connection to olivia rodrigo and other artists in that genre, but this was my first time checking her out. i really loved her vocal performances and deliveries on the album and the instrumentals were enjoyable. while some songs lack some substance and there’s a line or two that felt a bit flat, this album is overall pretty great!

Ellise - Bedroom Confessional
69

sexxxtapes ate sooo hard and the rest is pretty bland

Tiffany Day - HALO
89

robyn, cobrah, slayyyter, underscores, and now tiffany day all dropping great electronic albums in the span of a few weeks is going to be a time i look back on fondly in a couple of months! my last name twin didn’t disappoint in the slightest with the album after a line up of promising singles, and i hope all the 2hollis fans that shit on her finally leave her alone. march was fantastic, now april is off to a great start!

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
96

this album DOES contain hope, as well as raye securing her spot as vocalist of the generation, perfected orchestral arrangements, multiple grammys on lock, and raye flexing her pen and ability to craft the best melodies you’ve ever heard all at the same time. this album doesn’t feel like anyone but raye could’ve made it, partially because of the needed talent to make it that 99.999% of people don’t have, but also because raye is carving her own individual lane in the ... read more

Robyn - Sexistential
88

like many pop fans, i’m aware of robyn’s legend status, but this is the first time i’ve listened to an album of hers, and i doubt it’ll be the last! the production of this album is so exciting and literal ear candy and robyn is able to paint vivid pictures of whatever scenario she is going through in each song. will definetly need to check out more robyn in the near future!

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
100

YES GODDDD (slayyyter) this album is equally loud as it is fantastic and im ecstatic that it lives up to the singles

Melanie Martinez - HADES
44

melanie’s inability to make music throughout her decade spanning career is so fascinating to me. like, you’d think she’d lock in, but she just doesn’t? i have a lot of issues with this album, the most shared one being the corniness of the lyrics and deliveries, but one of my biggest ones is chatroom as a song. i understand the struggle of internet hate, but the scrutiny for melanie isn’t the same criticism majority of popstars face, it’s RAPE allegations. ... read more

Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once
65

the kylie album before this one, aphrodite, felt like kylie doing a sound that was popular during the time of release, and it was an artistic success to me, but this feels like she had the same goal, but it wasn’t executed nearly as well. there are a handful of stand out songs, but a large majority of this album was a swing and a miss.

top 3: sleeping with the enemy, sexy love, million miles
bottom 3: fine, beautiful, sexercise

Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite
82

the title track of this album is all about kylie’s musical identity, specifically her come back with this album, and i feel as though it’s fitting. in comparison to x, this album is much more cohesive, focused, and better. even the low points of this album i can appreciate because they remain cohesive and logical in the scheme of the album, something missing from x. anyways, i really enjoyed this album and i find kylie to be one of those artists that can act as a musical chameleon ... read more

Kylie Minogue - X

mixed feelings about this album! the five kylie albums that come before this are all amazing pieces of art from kylie, and this album fails to keep the streak for me. it has some high highs that reflect what i love about kylie’s music, but some stuff on this album really fell flat for me. i think the writing also took a turn for the worse on this album, and the vocals did too but not as severely. all together, sure, this album is pretty good, but it doesn’t live up to the ones ... read more

Kylie Minogue - Body Language
92

this album kinda sounds like kylie doing an impression of the music britney was making at the time, but it sounds great so i don’t care! some of kylie’s best songs are on here and it’s the album i’ve given the most 10/10s until this point in her discography. i can’t believe it’s taken me 16 years of living to hear chocolate!

top 3: chocolate, obsession, secret (take you home)
bottom 3: i feel for you, slow, you make me feel

Nessa Barrett - Jesus loves a primadonna
95

my goat that never misses is back and making perfect music again!!!!! while this sound is new for nessa, it’s one that sounds natural, and it feels like her whole discography has built to this grungy, sexy mix she delivers with this ep. it’s a definite departure from aftercare, an album i hold dearly, but the personal, often jarring lyrics that have followed nessa her whole career remain. nessa is evoking emotion through vocal ability in a way she hasn’t before, specifically ... read more

Kylie Minogue - Fever
92

amazing dancey pop from start to finish! so many hits and classics and i understand why. a lot of people consider this kylie’s magnum opus, and although so far i think it’s impossible princess, this album is still one of the bests ive heard from her.

top 3: come into my world, in your eyes, fragile (what a three track line up)
bottom 3: whenever you feel like it, boy, can’t get you out of my head

Cher - All I Really Want to Do
55

the highlight of the album is undoubtedly cher’s voice, and all other aspects are lackluster. the production doesn’t differentiate from song to song, and the mixing was rough (to say the least), but it’s also an album from the 60s so i really can’t complain.

top 3: cry myself to sleep, i go to sleep, blowin in the wind
bottom 3: the bells of rhymney, girl don’t come, don’t think twice it’s alright

Kylie Minogue - Light Years
90

a lot of this album feels like kylie’s first 2/3 albums, but much better and with a stronger vision. i’m not surprised kylie went in a more commercial and bright direction to follow up impossible princess, and i honestly don’t mind at all because i think she sounds amazing in both. why is the user score only a 79??

top 3: light years, butterfly, your disco needs you
bottom 3: so now goodbye, please stay, on a night like this

Kylie Minogue - Impossible Princess
94

so so impressed by how amazing this album is. with the bonus tracks, it spans over an hour, but it’s kept me captivated from start to finish. it remains cohesive, but it branches into all sorts of sub-genres that all feel so effortless to kylie. the vocal performances didn’t disappoint and are some of the best i’ve heard from kylie. can’t wait to listen to this album many more times!

top 3: some kind of bliss, dreams, cowboy style
bottom 3: love takes over me, did it ... read more

Kylie Minogue - Kylie Minogue
85

this is the album i’ve been waiting for her to make!!! i absolutely love the sound she used in this record and she did it greatly. also, she was SINGING on so many of the songs on here and i absolutely loved it. very thankful for the departure of anybody-could’ve-made-it pop!

top 3: confide in me, dangerous game, surrender
bottom 3: time will pass you by, nothing can stop us, where has the love gone

Kylie Minogue - Let's Get to It
78

this album sounds like kylie is somewhat committing to the house/dance sound that works sooo well with her, but she’s still not leaving the 80s pop that she debuted with behind. i felt a similar way with rhythm of love, and this is a step up, but im waiting for her to just go for it.

top 3: finer feelings, word is out, too much of a good thing
bottom 3: right here right now, give me just a little more time, let’s get to it
