This was something different. I’m not an expert on metal, and honestly I haven’t spent a lot of time with the genre, but Panopticon really opened something up for me. It’s not the aggressive, chaotic sound I used to associate with metal. This is way more atmospheric, patient, and immersive, and it just completely worked for me.
