Huey Lewis has a very interesting voice but doesn't really put it to use here, most of the songs are rock n roll cuts that feel dated as all hell even in the 80s. Jacobs Ladder is a forgettable intro which uses elements of a power ballad to introduce the album, Stuck with You in my opinion is a good song, although lyrics very tacky it has a solid chorus and works well as a holiday song. Whole Lotta Lovin has aged terribly and sounds like a overblown 60s song. Hip to Be square is a classic ... read more
ah. i tried to like this and i really dont like this genre of pop punk all that much. But i came into this with an open mind seeing all the positive reviews i thought maybe. Sadly in my opinion it didn't deliver. However it does have a few noteworthy tracks that i think are good. I like the high energy intro with Burnout. Longview is a extremely solid cut and Welcome to Paradise is iconic.
Unfortunately the main issues i have with this album is the short cuts of this album which ... read more
its a decent project from Jay. Obviously doesn't hold a candle to Reasonable Doubt but has a few stand out tracks to say its noteworthy. The intro has one of my favourite hip hop beats PERIOD, Jay flows over this beat so well. And the 2nd track The City Is Mine uses a sample from the classic 80s hit, You Belong To The City, and it actually works so well on this track. The album starts to go downhill after the hilarious track I Know What Girls Like featuring Diddy and Lil KIm. This track ... read more
Charli XCX delivers on this synth pop album with many highs on this project.
I like the intro being nice and short and giving an opening to the LP. New Shapes is a decent collaboration with a catchy chorus and Charli works well with her collaborators. I love the 80s synth on Good Ones it really fits the project. Constant Repeat has a great beat. And the track Baby one of the more raunchy tracks on this album has a great kick to it. Yeah the production is top notch throughout and Charlis ... read more
Holy! Ok so this is my first heavy metal album. And my god, what a start. this album from front to back is great!
People of the Sun is a great opener to this project and brings the energy and attention needed from the audience, and then the song following Bulls On Parade is nothing short of a masterpiece in its own regard, the sheer energy from that track is just insane. I really like the lyrics on Snakecharmer particularly "To a sanctuary that's a fragile, American hell An empty ... read more
Michael Jackson's second LP brings the swagger of the 80s, i mean look at the cover, look at that jacket god damn. But seriously this album was a solid listening experience from front to back. Starting off with Bad, which in my opinion is a very corny song but it does damn hit and sort of speaks of the era. The Way You Make Me Feel is a bop. And Speed Demon is where i start to have a few issues with the album i don't think that the track has aged well at all and has a lacklustre chorus and is ... read more
Nas, after his last 2 critically acclaimed records, i had some hope for this project. however this album isn't very good. For starters the choruses on this album do not hit at all, they're just so forgettable to say the least. For example; the track Favor for a Favor has a great beat but the track is ultimately let down by the chorus.
the 2 minute album intro feels useless, i would've started the album off with N.Y State of Mind, Pt. 2, which is a solid opener but obviously doesn't lay a ... read more
