IDK is like Kanye without the things that separate him from his peers. His flow is a carbon copy on the majority of this album, his bars are like Kanye's appearance on "Stay Up" dialed up to 13, and he's preachy to the point where it gets unbearable (that one isn't a Kanye issue, that's strictly an IDK issue). Between that, production that refuses to differ at any point, and a string of mediocre at best features, this album is a chore to get through.
Also, "Red" is one of the worst songs of the year, which sounds crazy given who's involved, but it's true. IDK's verses are just bad, DOOM's appearance is limited to a post-hook, Westside Gunn tries to save the track with no success, and Jay Electronica (one of my favorite rappers of all time, by the way) drops what I think is the worst verse I've ever heard him give. "You stick with Dr. Fauci, I'm runnin' with Dr. Wesley/I'd never let the CDC come and finesse me." On a song where one of the features (Westside Gunn) had a near-death experience with COVID and had one of his best friends (DJ Shay) actually die from it. Really?
Overall, this album is awful. I want to like IDK more because I thought IDK & Friends 2 was actually good, as is IWASVERYBAD. Those two projects aren't enough to get me to like him as an artist. USEE4YOURSELF is among the worst music that 2021 has had to offer so far, and I sincerely doubt I will be giving his music another chance after this. Good luck to him.
*side note, "Hey Auntie" is one of the best songs in the entire IDK canon. It's him at his most brutally honest about his upbringing, and his raw verses combined with Slick Rick's feature and a very good beat makes it the most different/best song on the whole thing. Respect to him for being that open on a song.*
