The work if two elite producers now letting their voice be part of the work as well. Sublime.
Holy shit this is bad. An ugly mix of Midnights and Folklore, except this one is outright bad. Questionable writing and stories that after nearly 22 songs we just stop caring about. Jack Antonoff is getting boring.
There’s a part of me that thinks a 100 is a bit high, but then you listen to Trench and think no yeah it’s that fucking good. Not a single skip. From rock to reggae influences; this album has a bit of everything and it’s all tasteful. Smithereens is the weakest song on here and yet it’s still a good one. Nothing is ever perfect, but this comes damn close.
A bland and stale execution of a decent idea on paper.
Given the story and lore surrounding this album, the concept behind it is really good. But it was released as an audio medium and not a book, so we judge the sound. And it just isn’t good. Generic and boring. 2-3 decent songs and 1 really good one. Everything else ranges from mediocre to just bad. Never Take It is atrocious.
