Not half bad. I'm not a huge musical fan and can't pretend that I love this, but some of the stronger songs in the musical are here. For this I give it a solid 70.
Serene, beautiful, amazing. Not my favorite album ever, but there is a lot of beauty here and much is offered to any listener who wants pure peace to emanate from their speakers.
Also "Windswept Adan" is potentially one of the best songs ever written, without exaggeration.
I loved Windswept Adan. But this track, which adds long periods of clapping from the live audience (sometimes for as long as the original song was itself) it just too much. I love the version of "Windswept Adan" itself that is featured on this album. Aside from that though, I would simply recommend listening to the original version of this album.
If you want some 60's vibes and a couple of banger songs this is the EP for you.
This is a cute album, and theres a lot of things that add to it's charm. The vocals are fantastic, and theres a sort of beautiful old scratchiness to the sound of the Daughters of Eve, stemming from low recording quality, that really works to their favor. It's beautiful.
The real stand out here, is of course, the song "Hey Lover", which is amazing. a genuine, heartfelt call for romance, ... read more
A tragic album that I'm not able to re-listen to due it's profound sadness, and few things truly get me like that.
I should also say she looks like Kamala Harris, lol.
I actually just didn't like this one that much, TBH, but I won't rate it too lowly, it's still pretty good.
This doesn’t add much to Pinkerton, except for one standout song. “I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams” is truly stunning, and I’m so glad the world got it in this deluxe edition. Despite not being on the original album, it’s the most popular Pinkerton song on Spotify. I’m glad we got this freaking AMAZING song, but other than that, this album is a little weaker due to repetitious similar versions of songs and other such tie-wasters. It's the same, ... read more
I'm someone who doesn't typically listen to rock and I've NEVER listened to emo before this album. However, the quality of this album is undeniable. So many of the songs are ABSOLUTE BANGERS. "Why Bother", "The Good Life", "Pink Triangle", and "Butterfly" are the standouts for me. And an album with only ten songs having THAT MANY standouts is a rare win. Other will also point to "El Sorcho" which I don't disagree is fantastic ... read more
This is some pretty solid music. I discovered this while trying to find Chinese jazz to use as a backdrop for some of my writing. I think it's not quite as great as their last album and some of their singles, which really have the power to take you away; but it's still solid jazz, and I'll probably like it more once I give it a relisten one of these days.
Solid music, I'll give it a nice 80, and I'll be proud to be the 3rd person to rate this wonderful music.
There is truly so much artistry and effort going into this album, you can tell. Yet, for some reason, I just don't like it that much. I can't tell why, especially because this SOUNDS like music that I would normally like, but it just isn't. Can't explain it, just not one of my favorites here.
One of my favorite albums. Calming and lovely, I stand by this album and it's many bangers.
My favorite album of all time. I know this opinion is likely to change as my music tastes grow, but for now, I just can't get enough of this. Every last song is not only good but exceptional in every way. I adore this album and I can't even listen to it in full anymore because of how much each song inspires and moves me.
