I think this is very overhated IMO. As someone who was raised with lyrical rap, I enjoyed this album. Joyner really appears to be stepping out of his comfort zone with this album and experimenting with different sounds throughout each song. Yes, in that same regard, it does all correlate back to his main sound that to some can feel repetitive, but for me, I like the direction he went with this track.
The production is pretty solid, especially for the underground scene. There are just so many layers to each track and has a deep meaning all throughout this EP. There are some parts that I do feel could've been managed better, like certain layers of the songs that get buried behind other instruments, but otherwise, the concepts behind each song appear to be executed pretty well IMO.
Favs: Bandit, Wicked Game
This is FAR from the worst album I've heard. There are some quality issues throughout the entire album, especially within the vocals, which almost sounding somewhat AI-like or computerized. Mixing could have been worked on as a whole; the concept is cool, but execution could have been worked on, which is why I can't give this a high score. This tracklist has always been super nostalgic to me growing up, and even to this day, it still hits me. Easily one of my go-to when I'm tryna relax.
