It's just as impressive that none of the recurring elements are pronounced or simple enough to become fatiguing with repeated play.

The fact that it's a soundtrack may put people off it, and I can't blame them because it put me off it too. But what we have to admit is that this is a stunning piece of ambient work that no one could have expected from a producer so small. It certainly isn't perfect, but it's easy to love.

Ostensibly an album of vignettes, Minecraft's huge audience makes the contents of Volume Alpha some of the most influential pieces of music of recent times. Some of the loveliest, too.

1,000 followers. An accomplishment that I couldn’t ever possibly achieve without the help of you all. 4 months. 4 months I’ve been on this site, posting reviews regularly for all of you. It felt like yesterday since I logged onto this website one day, having the account for many months but just to lurk, and something in me just wanted to start writing reviews. Fast forward to present day, these past few months have just been bliss. I wouldn’t or couldn’t be here today on ... read more

Probably more often than I would like to admit I reminisce to what I imagine is a pretty collective memory among my generation; the magical afternoons sitting behind my computer playing Minecraft. The hours spent building houses, exploring worlds and battling, I find hardly wasted. Listening to the soundtrack to the game that has been such a huge part of my life brings it all back. Every note sentimental and melancholy in its own right. A true masterpiece.

While nostalgia obviously serves a ... read more

Minecraft is one of the most popular games to ever be made, whether you think it's overrated or one of the best games ever is up to you. But I feel that we can agree that the soundtrack that accompanies the game is amazing. I know this is basically what everyone says about this project, but it is purely just nostalgic, it takes me back to simpler times in life. It's a very calming and soothing project, it's amazing for studying, or when you just want to relax and experience ... read more
