There are some good songs off this album, but for the most part, it's all really just eh
I grew up on Pink Floyd, so I'm gonna have some bias. With that said, I rated this album based off replay-ability. Obviously, I think Shine on You Crazy Diamond is a masterclass, but I don't see myself re-listening to two 12 minute long songs. Wish You Were Here is def one of the best songs of all time tho
I like this album - it's a good mix of folk rock and just other versions of folk music, but it's not unbearable to listen to. Noah has this weird way of making his lyrics so specific to him that they're kind of relatable, and I admire that.
Favs: End of August, Doors, Willing and Able, The Great Divide, Dashboard
Least Favs: Paid Time Off, Headed North
This album was alright, there are some good songs on the record, but it's not nearly as good as the critics are saying it is. I do believe that Parachute is AMAZING though
Favs: Kill Me, Mirtazapine, Brotherly Hate, Parachute
This almost indie kind of rock goes really well with Marcus’ voice, and I’m a sucker for that kind of compressed snare sound. First album by them that I listened to, and it’s a good start.
Favs: Thompkins Square Park, The Wolf, Only Love
The rating is brought up heavily by the title track - the song Purple Rain just has me levitating. I was hoping the whole record could be like that, but unfortunately it’s a staple of 80s music, which I am not a fan of
Favs: Purple Rain, Let’s Go Crazy
Least Favs: The Beautiful Ones, Baby I’m A Star
If 2015 was an album, this is what it would be. The record wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. There were a couple good songs on here, but the rest were just average
Favs; Hymn for the Weekend, Army of One
Least Favs: Up&Up
I was kinda scared Bad Omens was just gonna be another commercial metal band, but they weren't. They had some mid songs on this record, but there were some bangers too. The slower songs like "Who are you?" and "Somebody else." just weren't it for me, though.
Fav: Just Pretend, Like a Villain
Least favs: What It Cost, Who are You?, Somebody else.
I think this is by far his best work; there are so many good songs on this record
The instrumental is good, but then he put in a deep vocal that sounds like Sleep Token and it didn't really mix well
(Deluxe tracks only) I really like 15 minutes and Busy Woman, but the rest are just "eh." Dolly Parton was a really bad choice for a feature
Really hit or miss debut album. Some songs were pretty good, and some songs were really bad.
The Game: 8/10
Nightlight: 8/10
Brainstorm: 7/10
Glow: 8/10
Haunt Me: 7/10
Millionaire: 5/10
Gravedigger: 6/10
Look Mom I Can Fly: 8/10
15 Minutes is the best song on this release of singles and it's not even close, the rest aren't the best
I really like the deluxe tracks
Up From The Bottom: 9/10
Unshatter: 8/10
Let You Fade: 7/10
There's so many songs on this album that could be good, but are produced terribly. Other songs, however, are amazing and are getting way too much hate than they deserve. This album is just really bland, there's almost no variety.
Favs: Eyes Closed, End of Youth, Curtains
Skips: Boat, Colourblind, Vega, Sycamore
