Even as a german I am not that well versed in german hip-hop. But this album is great and way better than most american releases. OG Keemo's pen game is outstanding. His lyricism can be menacing, bleak, darkly humorous or introspective. The beats blend sinister trap aesthetics with old school samples.
Track Picks: Nebel, 216, Geist, Zinnmann, Outro
Rocky's first mainstream record. While it's not as interesting as his later albums it also avoids the missteps of those records. Long.Live.A$ap provides a lot of catchy, charismatic and fun bangers with some cool, slightly druggy production. However it isn't perfect. Some songs are a bit boring (Pain) or kinda generic (Fuckin' Problems).
Track Picks: 1Train, LVL, PMW, Goldie
Even 30 years after its release the album still sounds extremely smooth, colorful and fresh. A Tribe Called Quest created some of the most timeless Hip-Hop of the 90s.
Track Picks: Bonita Applebum, Can I Kickt It?, Ham 'N' Eggs, Luck Of Lucien, Push It Along
This is the worst song i have ever heard. I am not exaggerating. Charlie Puth sucks all of the soul out of soul music.
I really enjoy the dreamy edge of Kleeer's Disco-Funk.
Track Picks: Kleeer Sailin'; It's Magic; To Groove You; I Love To Dance; Tonight's the Night
