Usher teaming up with Zaytoven for a collaborative EP seemed like an exciting prospect, blending Usher’s smooth R&B vocals with Zaytoven’s signature trap-infused production. However, "A" plays out as a pretty predictable affair, offering exactly what you’d expect but not much more. It’s not a bad project, but it also doesn’t push any boundaries or bring anything particularly fresh to the table.

There are some enjoyable moments, with Usher still showcasing his silky vocals over Zaytoven’s signature piano-driven beats. Tracks like ATA and Birthday have a nice bounce to them, while Peace Sign has a certain late-night appeal. Usher sounds comfortable navigating these beats, but at times, it feels like he’s just coasting rather than truly innovating.

The main issue with "A" is its lack of staying power. While it’s a short and digestible listen, the songs don’t feel distinct or memorable enough to leave a lasting impression. Zaytoven’s production—while polished—feels a little too familiar, and Usher’s melodies, while pleasant, don’t quite elevate the project. It’s all very listenable but doesn’t demand repeat plays.

Overall, "A" is a decent little EP that delivers a smooth, laid-back vibe, but it doesn’t stand out in Usher’s discography. It’s a safe and predictable effort that, while enjoyable in the moment, won’t really have you coming back for more.
