Nostalgia of the mixtape era is really hitting here. I can’t lie other than Katy Perry no misses. SOOOOOO fun like how can you hate this. Also, I feel Tezzus is coming into his own here.
Best Songs: Solange, Jeffrey Williams, TMLF
Vince I thought you were gonna drop AOTY not damn near album of the decade. This one is truly incredible and showcases Staples at his best. This man may retire Vince the rapper to become Vince the ARTIST.
Best Songs: BlackBerry Marmelade, TBBW, Only in America, Cotton
Okay no this is looking to be up there with his best….all singles have been quite literally 10/10 so far. He’s leaning into such a nice aesthetic and so much meaning. The choruses have been infectious too, really just great music on all fronts
Part 1/3 for the Computer series by Infinity Frequencies: This is the type of music where you finish it up and wonder if you enjoy it or not, then you slowly understand and get addicted to it. Some of these songs are short, yet pack a punch. They have mastered their sound of eerie sample loop with this one. I love the incorporation of different samples into each song, amazing work.
Best Songs: Withering, Occasion, Destiny
Actual bliss, one of the best ambient albums I’ve ever listened to. Over the past week or so I’ve been giving plenty of ambient albums tries from different eras. So far, none of the genres hit quite like Mallsoft and Slushwave for me. These genres focus mainly on nostalgia, meshing some mall or transitional tunes and putting a large filter over a said sample with added touches. The result here is better than ever. It’s the perfect mix between traditional ambient and Slushwave ... read more
Fakemink drops his best, most fully fleshed out album yet. You know he’s shown signs of being crazy outside of the music, but at least the music makes up for his actions. Man what a tape, is it going to change the genre? Maybe, maybe not. But what we got here was a solid album with no real miss and just straight heat (other than the 7 minute snoozefest). In my opinion this beats out Rebel, Esdeekid’s album. I also respect him pushing these experimental sounds to a more mainstream ... read more
Both these singles have been PERFECT so far. These two songs mog Peggy’s whole album unfortunately. I don’t know which one I like more rn
Holy shit, this dude Shine was locked in I wonder if he made this one in his car😂😂😂. Nah but I’ve never been a huge Pluggnb guy and maybe I’m maturing but this is absolutely beautiful. It’s got experimentation and a more modern take on Pluggnb as a whole. This will be known as one of the most quintessential underground rap albums of this year, his vocals are gorgeous on here and the production is unlike anything else. Like in parts it is nearly like shoegaze levels of ... read more
Actually a really great aux/car album! In similar vain to Veeze’s ‘Ganger’ but a little bit better to me. Also, Lucki was experimenting with plenty of flows and melodies which paid off here in my opinion. The beats are gorgeous too he’s so back but also he needa get the lean gut in shape😂. This is a beautiful palette cleanser after the three Drake duds🥲🥲🥲🥲Thank you Lucki I wanna rub your tummy.

How are mfs hating on this direction he’s going? He’s bringing his own style into more traditional production, but don’t be mistaken this production still HITS. I think every song is a welcome addition to his discog. WHY ARE MFS HATING ON THE 7th TRACK TOO THATS THE BEST ONE. People are too picky with Bleood if he isn’t dropping ear piercing music (I like that style too btw) then he isn’t good I suppose.
Best songs: 7th track, codeine tears, on E
People deadass listen to this when you can just listen to the more original version being anything Che makes😭+25 for being impressively close to what Che sounds like and making it so quick. That’s it tho
Oh NOOOOOOO we got lyrical Pretti again🥹🥹🥹Pretti was one of my original favorites in the modern ug and him revisiting this sound means something to me
This album gave me a newfound love for the Jazz genre as a whole, it’s really quite a large moment for me. My whole jazz journey, I found the various traditional ‘bop’ jazzes to be the best and most perfect one. But albums like this cement it as my FAVORITE and arguably one of the most in depth genres out there. The drumming here is amazing, Hancock’s keyboard work is second to none. He’s really right there with Tyner and Bill Evan’s’ level of playing. ... read more
