SOFIA ISELLA - I'm camera .

This project embodies a dark, almost gothic rock atmosphere, reminding me at times of Billie Eilish’s debut LP.
With its heavy sound, the EP features equally dark, dense, and deeply introspective lyrics, all beautifully delivered by the artist. For me, the standout track is “Man Made,” and Sofia Isella is definitely an artist to keep an eye on going forward

Roland Faunte - Sewing Kit
91

This album is really underrated, in my opinion. I don’t know how many people have listened to Sewing Kit, or to anything by Roland Faunte for that matter, but they’re truly missing out!
I truly believe the writing on this record is something special. Don’t get me wrong, though, it’s definitely not a good vibes album. Accompanied by a beautiful voice and soft piano, the music feels strikingly minimalistic yet emotionally rich.

Black Country, New Road - For the first time

Today we’re reviewing another debut album, this time, Black Country, New Road’s For the First Time. Yet again, we have a truly daring debut! It’s not common to see such a large band work so seamlessly together, but the British seven-piece makes it look effortless.

black midi - Schlagenheim

Schlagenheim is the debut album of the British band black midi, released in 2019. I’ll start this review by addressing the elephant in the room: no, I cannot write the name of this album without looking it up. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t an amazing record.
I would easily describe this record as raw, energetic, chaotic, and unique. This album is more than just a debut, it’s a statement from a young band producing such a mature and confident sound, which is ... read more

Pulp - Different Class

Our review today takes us straight back to 1995 with Pulp’s Different Class. It's our very first Britpop album here, and there will definitely be more to come. And honestly, we started with a banger!
This record is truly groovy and fun. One thing I really want to point out (because it's hilarious to me): when you open the album booklet, there’s just one line before the lyrics begin-“Please do not read the lyrics whilst listening to the recordings.” The funniest ... read more
