Lovejoy - With Rob As My Witness
90

I DO NOT condone Wilbur's actions. One of the cases where I can separate the art from the artists.

Now, for the song itself, it fucking slaps. That bass is killer. I wish they did a little more on the verses tho, and that drum could be mixed a little bit lower. Banger anyway.

Beach Bunny - Tunnel Vision
78

fun indie rock. nothing more to it except a few highlights, but still pretty good :D

Jack White - No Name
85

Just straight up hard, noisy and especially RAW rock BANGERS!!!
I wish the mixing wasn't so scuffed in some sections though, but the songs themselves make up for it.

Fontaines D.C. - Romance
89

The more I listen to this album, the more I'm convicted it will stand the test of time flawlessly.
It sounds so unique. The songwriting might be a little lackluster here and there, but the rough vocals match it to create an amazing style that I can't really find anywhere else.
And don't even get me started on the instrumentals. Every single one is a BANGER, but the highlights are undoubtedly Starburster and Favourite. While the first is an absolute bop with a dark atmosphere, the ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

(EDIT: 65 -> 80)
Catchier on recent listens. Still don't think it's amazing or anything but i think i get it now.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

My fourth listen to this album and I don't get it. Welp.
To be fair, "Killing Time", "Death & Romance" and tracks 12-15 are amazing, but other than that it really bored me.
It just sounds so similar and it fails on its attempts to actually do something unique (like the last 2 minutes of "Tunnel Vision". They try, ... read more

Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
95

holy shit this album gets more emotional than i thought
also the first three tracks might be one of my favorite 3-song runs (possibly of all time)
maybe more in depth review soon

Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me
88

Unbelievably ahead of its time, it sounds like 2000s music, but 13 years earlier
Also incredibly catchy but that doesn't do enough justice to this album

Kill Bill: The Rapper - LOCUST GROVE
100

his flow and his voice are just unbelievable man
rides this beat so well

YUNG LIXO - Bonda
69

a nota real é tipo um 80 mas não tem como dar outra nota pra esse album em específico

Wilbur Soot - Your City Gave Me Asthma
80

this is just NOT a 29. at the very least a 60. cmon

YUNG LIXO - Bittersweet Memories
85

(EDIT - 95 -> 85)
Shrunk on me a bit. Still pretty good, but not as outstanding as I thought on first listen.

///

simply amazing.
as a brazilian/portuguese speaker, the reviews aren't botted.
everyone who knows about yun li's trajectory in music also knows how this album is important, especially considering that this came after validation.
great moment for vito.

Drake - For All The Dogs
30

it's a drake album, nothing to be said really
also, i swear whoever drew that dog in the cover has NEVER seen a dog

Dan Salvato - Doki Doki Literature Club! (Original Soundtrack)
85

(Rating based on soundtrack after playing the game)
I REALLY miss games like these. Those one in a lifetime experiences with games, because of how they turn out at the end and how they are not what you expect. Undertale, Inscryption, Omori, Doki Doki, and the list goes on. I hate what FNAF did to the horror industry, as almost every game from the genre nowadays feels dated and unoriginal, like Poppy Playtime. And the best part about Doki Doki is that it isn't boring. Sure, the horror part is ... read more

Lovejoy - Normal People Things

This song feels... weird. When I heard it for the first time, I REALLY didn't like it. But after some listens, it grew on me. Wilbur's voice isn't good in this, but the instrumental is kinda crazy. I don't know, just a fun song for me.

Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday
0

really though, why?
if you had a giant panel of options of what person you could turn into, you'd probably be confused.
you could be einstein, who was a genius. or maybe some musical genius, like thom yorke?
or you could be an abuser
seems perfect!
also, that n-word part is actually awful. the music video makes this 10 times worse.

Lil Dicky - Earth
1

I always laugh when the Kanye West part comes.
Not because it's funny, but because I know Lil Dicky's gonna say he forgives Germany afterwards, and that shit's aged like milk.

Jonas Brothers - The Album
25

at least the title didn't lie, it's definitely one of the albums of all time

Cattle Decapitation - Terrasite
70

the man on the cover looks like some shit outta terraria wtf

Lovejoy - Wake Up & It's Over
86

I might be overrating this, but I don't care.
I love this. It's the best it could be. I really expected this to suck because of the same problems of the other albums, but it did a complete turn on those matters.
So, if you don't know me, a few months ago I did a Lovejoy review streak, where my main problem with their songs were how they were similar, and after I finished that streak, Wilbur's voice was starting to sound kind of mediocre whenever i revisited those albums.
With that and their new ... read more

Bo Burnham - Inside (The Songs)
99

This is so special for me. It changed me as a person and made me feel better about the whole pandemic situation. Not everyone can do that. Bo is a comedic genius and with this special we can also see that he is a musical, creative and emotional genius.
