Denzel expands on a sound and group of artists he flirted with on KOTMS V2, especially on the deluxe version. Every song here has a feature, with members of new group "The Scythe" appearing a number of times. Coming into this album, I was expected and whole lot. While my expectations weren't quite met, it shouldn't take away from the fact this project is still solid. The energy was inconsistent but still good some moments, and the lyricism was good. Overall,I think the album perfectly summarizes J. Coles career, a good way above average but lacking that extra factor to take it to great.
Yet another album which cements Don Toliver's spot as stuck in mediocrity. This was a pretty boring and uninspired album that seemed geared to Gen Z TikTok addicts to me. I lowkey forgot I was even listening to music while trying to get through this album. E85 and Sweet Home I thought were solid but the rest of the tracklist was very forgettable, with some songs like Body being straight up annoying.
