I want to start of by saying I really do not care for any Peggy vs Earl beef since I think they both have many borderline perfect albums worth discussing without putting down the other artist.
SICK! is an atmospheric triumph of a record. this project is extremely hit or miss for me.
usually almost every song on a peggy album sounds amazing to me but in this case there are often flashes of brilliance followed by complete duds on the tracklist. also many more plain boring or meh songs by his standards.
when i add up my track ratings it gives me a 84 overall but i just can't give it that because the tracklist really overstays it's welcome in my opinion and very often i really get into 2 songs in a row just for the ... read more
First single was just okay for me but this is great. I have to admit I'm not a fan of his slower stuff usually like dark times and other newer projects but Big Fish Theory is still one of my favorite albums ever. Excited for the project.
This is my first Kenny Mason project and I am SO impressed. I've only heard his Denzel and JID features and the DRACULA single so far and I did not know he had this in him.
His vocal performances on this album show incredible range and so do his instrumental choices. He is not just multifaceted genre wise he actually nails the genre he is going for each time. JID absolutely killed that beat on TEST ME but Kenny was not THAT far off rapping wise and he snapped on the chorus.

Really haven't gotten around to listening to this since im in the fuckass military but once i get out i'm gonna smoke a joint after a year break and play this before i do anything else. This seems like an 80 sober, 100 high type project.

Kanye West dropping a better album than Yeat in the big 2026 was NOT on my bingo card.
On a more serious note I haven't caught up on any Kanye news in forever and haven't really wanted to because his downward spiral just made me sad. Struggling with mental health myself I did however read his apology letter and the old Kanye fan inside of me really hoped he is atleast back on a better path mentally, not really expecting any great musical works from him ever again.
