Holy crap. Dude, this is simply wow. There’s something about “Getz/Gilberto” that has always drawn me to it. I have no idea why it took me so long to listen to the album though. It’s always been a record that I pushed back. Now that I’ve finally listened to it, I can say that I’m no longer missing out. This is some of the most comforting music I’ve ever listened to period. Though I can’t understand the lyrics that well, there’s something about Gilberto’s voice that feels so intimate. The soundscape of this record is so beautiful, it sounds like what I imagine the color orange sounds like. I feel like you really can pick apart at the instruments and that’s what I love about this record. The instrumentation feels so genuine if that makes sense; it feels raw. I don’t really think there’s any inherent flaws that stand out to me. There’s extents to the songs though, even I don’t understand that but there is. Some tracks feel as if they max out to me (might just be a me thing, I don’t know). Overall, I love this record; it’s simply amazing. It feels like so much with a soundscape so minimal and I love that about this album.
