I'm not that critical of Arch ever. I feel like I honestly like all of his music. This was great I liked the strange electronic elements he's playing with in this EP, and obviously, he does jazzish incorporation really well. I would say It's All Soup Now has the potential to be my favorite song of his in recent memory. I just love when his songs have multiple phases/sections.
This album is very good. I can already tell that Étouffée will be one of my favorite rap songs this year. His sound has really come together in recent years, you can feel the inspiration he gains from Kendrick, but I like how his music is more grounded/real.
One thing of note, not to be OVERLY critical but I feel like the message in Justin is stupid. That song is fire but everyone lies idk I think that final hook is stupid. Maybe its mr save a hoe but it just comes off a bit ... read more
I realized while listening to this album that I really find myself rooting for don toliver for no real reason. I love outer space (which is maybe why) yet I just can’t help but listen to his music and feel a bit childish. Lowkey, none of his songs have ever been even slightly lyrically interesting, and I feel like his sound and beats used to compensate, but it’s now stale (like 5 for 10 is legit the same flow as cardigan right???)and to me, others have been using beats with guitar ... read more
