this album was quite the experience, mixing brazilian roots with nu metal is not somthing i expected to hear, even though i probably should have. i did not expect rapping either on “In Memory Of…” either but they were going crazy on that as well, unfortunately i have heard much better nu metal albums. there are some amazing songs on here like obviously “Jumpdaf*Ckup” and “Pain” but it does get to a point with nu metal where it’s too repetitive unfortunately, and i think soulfly did their best to make it sound different and cinematic in a sense, but i don’t think it was hitting for me, i don’t think it was executed very well.
