though i wouldn’t really call it country, this is one of this first albums that got me expanding my music taste so much into country so much and all that’s around it. this album is really as fun as it gets. it’s so unique with the very live feeling and the yodeling and whistling, the cool licks and solos. this is such a cool sound. the songwriting is great as well. every song is very catchy and extremely unique. some spots in the album are even a little funny and silly, some ... read more
this guys voice still amazes me after years of listening every time, crazy crazy vocal control. i just love how nicks music feels, its so fun.
Honky Tonk Heroes just has to be one of the most essential outlaw country albums. this album is fantastic, great songwriting, waylon’s voice is a obvious plus, the instrumentals can be super chill but there’s some really fun ones in there as well. several very catchy songs, just a classic. i wish i could give this a perfect score, but the problem with country in the 60-70s was that everyone was putting out too much music and not working hard enough for perfection, they were thirsty ... read more
the concept, the solos, the legendary riffs, the perfect arrangement of every single track. it’s out of this world, this album is so great. i feel like this album does get its flowers when it comes to songwriting, i think it’s one of the best things metallica does on this record. the tempo changes everywhere into guitar solos and whatnot make the album such an interesting listen, you won’t be bored. there’s literally nothing to critique even if i tried, master of puppets ... read more
amazing riffs, amazing guitar solos, the drums, bass, vocals, they’re all on point, there’s not much to critique here besides that it does sound very similar to judas priest. that’s not a bad thing at all, but it’s just not unique whatsoever, but it’s not easy to be unique in thrash metal. this album was great though, a 60 critic score is a little crazy.
the low quality mixing and not great vocals on this album make this album have a slightly psychedelic feel to it, but i would not say in a very good way. the vocals are pretty bad to be honest, the instrumental’s could be better but everything just seems so all over the place and unorganized. i will say, i do like the organ they have on every track, that’s a cool and somewhat unique thing they’ve got goin. but i’m not really a big fan of this here, it is a little cool, ... read more
nice lil jazzy production with really impressive rapping performances from both lll Conscious and Finn. my only problems here is i’ve never been a fan of the hooks they do on almost every track and the beats are kinda just loops for the most part. don’t get me wrong they’re great beats but they could’ve been more interesting, it’s just not making the album somthing special or unique, but lyrically that’s where it’s really at on this album for me. i ... read more
i feel like as soon as this goes mainstream (if it does) i’m not gonna like it anymore. but the lead singer has a great performance throughout the album vocally. i just don’t really like this sound very much. it sounds like something i’d hear on the radio which i don’t really like. but i do think it was a very solid album. there’s just somthing there that stops me from ever wanting to enjoy this completely. probably because i’m not very much of a modern punk ... read more
these dudes are bringing that crosby, stills, and nash sound back, this is awesome. very chill album, great vocals, really cool and chill insturmentals, alright songwriting, i mean this is a pretty solid album, it’s a sound i’m a big fan of for sure. i do feel like these songs feel kinda forgettable, i think they nailed a memorable sound, but the songs aren’t very catchy. Natural Child did a great job at doing that 70s rock vibe.
i mean this is literally the most basic imaginable death metal album i’ve ever heard, at least add a good guitar solo.. every song sounded the same and the vocals are not good at all. there wasn’t a single solo all album which is usually the main thing i want out of a death metal album, but nothing. very disappointed in this album.
please learn to mix, it would make your beats 2x better bro. but i mean, these are extremely basic beats with not great mixing. your transitions were pretty cool though. the melodies give some video game vibes which is also cool but idk your using the most basic drum patterns imaginable and same with the drum kit you got goin on, same with the melodies too. i feel like every single comm producer sounds the exact same with the synths in every single beat. i’m just being honest here, i just ... read more
it’s still a very well composed and beautiful album, but in comparison to their many other pieces of work, it’s definitely not on that level. my complaint is that it does start to get a little boring, i’m not really tryna listen to alan making breakfast for 13 minutes either. i think the album could have been constructed better.
i enjoy this album a lot more than i do blonde, but it’s still not an amazing album to me. it’s definitely less boring but i still find the production very mediocre and basic. coming back to this, i will be honest i enjoyed a decent amount of the album, it’s not as depressing as blonde is at all. but i still just do not find anything special about frank ocean, production, his voice, its not special. i still think frank is extremely overrated.
never had a single point in my life where i’ve liked a single frank ocean song. i just cannot listen to depressing music, i hate it. i’m not saying the music is bad, there are some things frank does well, but it is also extremely boring to me. it’s just so overrated, i can’t do frank ocean. also i think “nights” is just not a good song.
i think gatemouth is extremely underrated, this dude mixed those texan and louisiana blues/zydeco roots so well together, even using fiddles too. genuinely some of the most southern shit you can listen to, and it’s awesome. such a fun album.
there’s a lot of people who still don’t understand how influential people like albert king was. there’s nothing on this album that is necessarily unbelievably, but for the 60s, hell albert king was rockin man. i think albert only got better as the years went by, even inspiring some of the best guitarists ever to live, jimi hendrix, stevie ray vaughan, etc.
there’s always just something about the blues man, it’s so amazing, you can just feel it in your soul. BB King is one hell of a blues player and it’s always cool to hear live albums from jail. the crowd doesn’t over shine the music either at all which is usually my main problem with live albums and the main reason i don’t usually listen to them, but this one is amazing. BB Kings got such a strong and powerful voice as well that puts so much emotion onto every ... read more
man marcus king is gonna be such a legend in so many different ways, he’s a great songwriter, fantastic voice, and his guitar skills are through the roof, he’s everything you need. not only that, but here on this album he perfectly blends rock, blues, soul, and country all together for a perfect sound. he’s just absolutely incredible. my only problem here is that it does get a little repetitive and it’s obviously very long, but it’s a deluxe with 2 discs so ... read more
nah man, not a fan of this. ringos songwriting seems very bad, and along with the delivery it makes for a very bad performance from him. insturmentals aren’t horrible but they’re nothing special. my main problem is just ringos performance, he needs to hang it up already.
now there are a good handful of songs i like to come back to on this album, but it’s guitar tracks meant to have a very old recording and raw feeling to them to emphasize the storytelling. there’s tons of covers here and many are really great choices, nobody does covers better than charley does. but it’s very boring off of a full listen. me personally i like to come back and play my guitar along with the tracks and just enjoy the chill vibe of the album, but i see what charley ... read more
