I guess as far as pop goes, it's not bad per say... It's not good either. It's, as usual, diabolically mid. Mid enough to be played on the radio and to gather some streams from automated playlists on spotify, but it's not an enjoyable album to listen to in its entirety, and no song shines enough to be a cool single or even a guilty pleasure hit.

I feel very fulfilled by the ending of the story. I love City Walls and its music video, and intentions works really well for me.
Now, putting the lore aside, I'm so happy to hear them have fun and try new things. This album feels like the past and the future of the band all mixed together. After Sofa Kings and Pratts and Pain, Royel Otis were one of the bands I was the most excited to hear about. I absolutely loved their universe filled with play on words and absurd concepts (best represented by Oysters in my pockets obviously), with a chill melancholic summer vibey indie pop that managed to feel unique.
