I've never really given Porter's music the light of day but god damn have I been missing out.
This album is stellar, the songwriting is funny at times and devastating at others. Every production choices feels deliberate but yet the album feels spontaneous enough to not feel dull at any moment. I look forward to checking out Porter Robinson's entire discography after this, because this might be my album of the year.
Also, Cheerleader is the best song of year, period.
What more can you say, it's brat summer bitches.
Never have I heard an album that makes me wanna shake ass and cry rivers as much as this one. Emotional roller coasters with incredible production from everybody involved. I feel like Charli has evolved so much as a songwriter throughout the years and this might be the magnum opus. Will rank high on my year end list.
Also all the remixes are fireeeeeeeeeš„
Between the AI sounding verses, the cringe lyrics and the absolute lack of any mixing, this is atrocious. Sounds thrown together in one day, I dont get how Ye has lost any and all ability to write songs, put together albums and produce and mix. Bomb and River are automated to two different volumes which shouldn't even be possible and nothing has any polish. Worse than the first one, and the first one was aaaaaaaaaaassssss. Also I don't know if Ye is talking about Kim or his current ... read more
This album is so sick, F1LTHY production hits and Bladee brings a vibe that is undeniable. All the Yung Lean features are killer and the constant interspersed "Cold visions" whispers brings me into the vibe. It's long but goes by in a flash. One of the best of the year in my opinion. It truly is Drain Season!
I'm popping champagne to this rn, never felt more alive!
A really solid fun art pop album, I was sceptical but this thing exceeded all my expectations. Polachek has such musical range and this is the album that proves it. She can turn some minimalistic art-pop into something that constantely grabs your attention. Prpbably my favourite pop album of the year.
Favourite track will probably always be Bunny Is a Rider, such a gorgeous soundscape and the lyrics are odd, but too perfect for the sound of the album, and Polachek's amazing voice
This is album of the year, we found it guys, this is everything I ever wanted and more from some of the best singer songwriters of this generation. Beutiful, and Not Strong Enough gives me goosebumps.
This is also such a great introduction for someone like me who's only heard Pheobe before this album, I look forward to discovering Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker's discographies since they make magic on this record.
