I cannot glaze Absolute Elsewhere enough!..
I wanted to explore some new music so I bought some vinyls of random albums, and Absolute Elsewhere was one of them...
The two songs Stargate and Message, are both excellent to their own right. IMO message is more melodic while Stargate is more heavy. The Message (I) directly inspired one of my songs since it is too good.
This is my Third Opeth, with Shining being the second Opeth.

I first associated Septicflesh with slam due to the similar name with Peelingflesh, but I was dead dead wrong...

Septicflesh's Communion is chuggy, melancholic and symbolic. It is exactly what I dig in a death metal album.
I love the mix of this album a LOT. It's literally perfect to my taste.

Most songs on this album is very enjoyable but track 2 The Answer Lies Within is just not it... it's way too sappy. I Walk Besides You is acceptable somehow, I enjoy it alot and headbang to it harder than some death metal. Octavarium is a masterpiece for sure but Sacrificed Sons is very overlooked.

This is Pink Floyd-Dark Side Of The Moon from the 2000s . Where prog metal stuff gets popular and metalcore. So it has a baby called Between the Buried And Me. Out of all albums except a few, this is the most inspiration I take. I think that "decades of statues" and "informal gluttony" are messy songs but the rest are very polished. the remaster version features a really good mix i like it.
