Harsh, lofi LP voicing tgirl problems with somewhat similiar vocals to Gezebelle Gaburgably. A few good tracks but kinda underwhelming.
This soft, twee pop album is perfect for cold, overcast days. It embraces you in a similar way to that which Souvlaki and other Slowdive tracks do. Overall, this album has a beautiful composure and all the instruments play a unique role and truly complement each other.
Fantastic album. Amazing vocals, guitar, mixing, choruses, etc. It just feels like it's missing something..
Their big hits "Rockstar" and "Photograph" make the album seem attractive, however it falls very flat. The lyrics are questionable at their best and ridiculous at their worst. The guitar is all over the place and gets very annoying very quick. Very frustrating album, waste of time.
One of the genre (???) defining EP's of zoomergaze and modern shoegaze. I've had countless listens to this EP; one of the defining features being the weightiness of the guitar and powerful bassline. The album art, sound, and dress of the band members adds a significant amount of distinctness to this EP. This is an essential listen to anyone interested in the heavier shoegaze scene with similarities to My Bloody Valentine.
This is one of the albums that I think of when I hear "garage rock". This album hosts a beautiful lo-fi mix with a sharp, poignant guitar. The pace of tracks change between tracks while still hosting the same amazing qualities that make it a great album in the first place. There are a couple tracks that throw me off, but don't let those tracks dismiss the endearing qualities of this essential garage rock album.
One of my favorite intros to an album. It holds that strong energy through the first few tracks, but it begins to taper off and lose its charm... but it works?? The slower, more melodic tracks slow you down just to throw you back with stronger tracks like "Cut Lips". Guitar tickles my brain xd
One of the first albums that got me into screamo/skramz and after listening to a more of the genre, I can truly appreciate this album for what its worth. It has a very cozy vibe to it and is comforting like a warm hug during your darkest hours in winter. The guitar feels very refreshing from the lofi production. Only gripes I have about this is that I wish it was longer (i mean it's an EP for a reason) and the drums don't have as much character as I would want, but they work well with ... read more
One of my favorite (if not my favorite) albums of all time with countless listens.
To start, the names of the tracks are a massive attractor for me. They are a cool a reference to MM..FOOD by MF DOOM. The album cover gives off a similar vibe to the songs which is one of my favorite thing about albums in general.
Regarding the music itself, her vocals stand out the most, especially on this album. It is a perfect medium between the raw nature of her earlier work and the more progressive nature ... read more
