Very bland and uninspired; I feel like “LUCID DREAM” gets progressively worse as you listen to it. The songs are fine to enjoyable at best; the EP as a whole, however, feels very hollow and empty. Despite this, I will die on a hill for the title track. I don’t care what anyone says, that chorus and rhythm are groovy as fuck, and the entire song feels so uplifting and energetic. Fight me.

I’m so happy to see Kim Petras making meaningful music after escaping her label. Detour is a breath of fresh air and sounds absolutely astonishing. However, I definitely think this project is far more important for Kim Petras personally, and it feels like something she’s been dying to release throughout her decade-long presence in music.
Kim Petras has always been an unimpressive act in music to me for the longest time. Whether it be her ear-scraping single with Sam Smith, or ... read more
Ironic that this JPEG album is called EXPERIMENTAL RAP, and coincidentally it manages to be his worst album.
I think we’ve gotten to a point where JPEGMAFIA, who’s been reliably putting out highly received projects, has let his ego get the best of him. EXPERIMENTAL RAP doesn’t bring anything new. He sticks to his old formula, yet worsens it somehow. It’s a mixed bag listening to this album—you’ll get some well-produced, complete tracks, and two songs later ... read more
In a world nowdays filled with political injustice and unrest, a world where we’ve progressed so far, but society is still dazed with uncertainity and unpredicatable. Genesis Owusu comes to drop an amazing protest record —translating his fury and ambition into REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCROUGE.
He’s unapolgetic, lyrically adept and still as experimental and genre striking as ever, mixing between both punk and rap whilst also dabbling in a bit of neo-soul too. Genesis ... read more
Versatility… that’s Kenny Mason, if you were to describe his performance on BULLDAWG.
Flows, storytelling, experimentation, cohesiveness—sub-genres on sub-genres. I could go on about everything Kenny does well on this project, but I would be stuck uttering line after line. Essentially, BULLDAWG is a well-structured and cohesive listen. Despite all the things it attempts to do at the same time, whether that be rap-rock or a trap fusion, it never feels like it’s all ... read more
