I genuinely can't believe that the amount of glaze I was hearing for this album after I've listened to it. The vocals are fucking horrendous. This might actually be the single worst album I've ever listened to in terms of the vocal performance. In every single song, Cameron Winter sounds like he is imitating a dying goat. It was bad enough on the last Geese record (which I listened to before this album), but it gets taken to another dimension here. The production is fantastic, ... read more
An interesting release from Nas and DJ Premier to cap off Mass Appeal's seven album oldhead run and continue Nas' prolific late career renaissance. Laufey's vocals are very nice and the music is nice, but an entire album full of it is just super boring, like listening to grass grow. This is especially true for the start of the album, with the first three songs honestly being a test of how long you can deal with a really slow spoken word performance without skipping through. It picks up a ... read more
