Depression Cherry

EDIT: Major grower on me. Space Song is one of my favorite songs of this decade so far.

this was pretty good. having never heard a beach house song before this LP, or even any music similar to them, this was a pleasant surprise. granted, they're far from being a favorite of mine, but they had some truly original characteristics to their music that i liked. the instrumentation and production was great, and the singing was almost as good. but then nothing changed... the singer used the same tone and the beats never strung too far away from each other. every few songs there would be a nice guitar riff for a while, then the track would go right back into the monotonous form that is seen throughout the album. there are much worse forms of music that uses a formula, so im not that mad about this. i also couldn't really understand the singer. is it just me, or is she extremely soft-spoken?
