I have waited 8 years for this album, and while it has a decent amount of things I would prefer done differently, I think it’s a great project. Not only did I enjoy the sound, but I found it interesting and that is pretty valuable to me.
first edward skeletrix project i have full listened to! while a little disorganized in theme, i appreciated the different stylistic choices and I actually really enjoyed the majority of the tracks. while writing this i am looking at the pitchfork review, but i think they are interpreting the joke songs in the wrong way or at least just do not like how he sounds. i loved the vocals, loved the beats, and overall this album had some bangers on it that i am happy to listen to as singles. rating ... read more
Great features and great production makes this s wonderful album! Very big fan of everything here.
As the 5th rating for this album, I really want to state how talented billionhappy is. We are entering an era of Chinese underground that I think has the potential to become as prominent as western groups (think 1c), while clearly taking inspiration from American underground rap, the Chinese underground artists manage to add a beautiful twist, and I am excited to hear more
Everything to say about this album has already been said and I have also written a couple reviews today so my fingers are tired. Very good work, good prods, good mumbling on the tracks.
This is one of my favorite lucki projects. I think his drug addiction seeps into the album and while that is a little scary to listen to, I think stylistically this is my favorite work he has put out. Mac n Cheese and None Other are some of his best work. I am happy he is a little big now instead of clearly dependent on Xanax to function.
I am a fan of lucki but to be honest I find this one of his weaker projects. I think that this album does not really stand out to me in any way, and while it still has the inherent lucki charm, I don't find it as unique as some of his other ones. Overall good production and good performance, he is just capable of better
Yung Lean will always have music for any period of time in your life. When I was 16 I needed Unknown Death, when I was 18 I needed Unknown Memory, and now I need Starz. The range he is able to encompass across his 13 years of making music is truly magical and a one of a kind talent. I love Starz with my whole heart.
Album was recommended to me by the artist themself which I generally find annoying but I will let that slide. I think this album is pretty interesting but definitely has the amateur vibe that needs to be polished out before it really works. There is awkward rhyming and bars that feel rushed to get the rhyme out in a time that is acceptable, some songs are like a mix between Hobo Johnson and Lil B. I think overall there is potential here but it will need the effort and refinement that is ... read more
Chinese people in the reviews flaming this and as a white fella from Europe my take might be a little less valuable, but i actually really enjoyed listening to this. I think that it is not something I could listen to casually while walking around for example, but just going off of the beats and vocals I don't understand I think this project is radiating potential and has pretty clear artistic merit to it. The style is something completely foreign to me and that is something I really value. ... read more
Crystal Castles modern rendition, pretty solid but its a style I would like regardless so there is definitely a bias
Generational production in terms of Sematary songs and really goes to show that he can still make quality music. Last couple of projects have been rough but any album with Chief Keef samples or Wicca Phase shoutouts will score highly in my books. RIP David Lynch , Justice for Alice Glass
i think a lot of the reviews here are saying this is weak for paramore or like a lazy album but i actually really enjoyed it and prefer it over everything else, i wasnt a teenage girl in the 2010's but when i listen to this album, just for a second, the bleached hair and mustache print fills my soul and i know what it felt like
