You know, I’m not really huge on this. To be honest, I don’t really like it.
I am giving it a higher score just because I see that the writing is creative/solid and the story is really interesting and well written.
On paper this album is incredible. I just don’t like a lot of these songs. The chorus’s are awful, his voice doesn’t really draw me in a lot of the time and the singer who shows up more than once (Ronald regan era singer) has a voice that I seriously despise. It may be my least favorite voice I’ve ever heard in music and I’m not joking.
But… mixed in with these songs I don’t care for are some of my favorite Kendrick Lamar tracks. Hiiipower, adhd and hol up are great songs. I respect this more than I enjoy it for the most part.
