A psych pop masterpiece. The album that REALLY got me into psych/rock music as a hip hop head 15 year old.
The song writing here, the use of synths, the way Parker manipulates and uses his voice in some of the best melodies I’ve ever heard in pop and the feeling this album gives me that is deeper than words are all just perfect. I understand this album isn’t for everyone, but it’s definitely for me. Cause I’m a man, yes I’m changing, let it happen, love/paranoia, new person, less I know, eventually and nangs are all masterpieces.
This has also been my go to album when experimenting with drugs, but I won’t go too much into that. I’ll just say this is the perfect album for that, it has the psychedelic soundscape of albums like DOSTM but is much more comforting for me to listen to when in an altered state. I have experienced songs off of this album in many many many different states of consciousness and it is always so sonically full of life and color.
