Estelle - Stay Alta
80

Very decent record with some very smooth sound pallettes and some occasional experimentation which tends to work out in her favor.

Westside Gunn - HEELS HAVE EYES 2
89

Some of my favorite material from Gunn since AND THEN YOU PRAY FOR ME. Some slightly higher energy beats with some stand out features that help to seperate this from a lot of the very samey material he has been releasing as of late.

Juan Berdugo - first night
80

Some absolutely decent indie rock. Not bad at all, even if nothing super new.

Offset - KIARI
80

The first quarter is a little boring and didn't quite have me sold but almost every song bodies and after is a hit. Its a little bloated, a little inconsistent, but has some supremely high highs and lows that never go lower than mid level. Overall really decent album.

Laufey - A Matter of Time
75

Very decent lush production and great singing from laufey but didn't hit me as hard as her last record. Overall pretty decent, but I find myself getting a little disinterested when the production leans too hard into disney-esque orchestration.

ISSBROKIE - SWAGGERHAVERZ!
89

idk why some people dont like the feature, I've loved Jarv for years and he did great here, he really fit the energy and vibe of the track well imo. Very solid song with some great production and good verses from both parties involved

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
70

Nothing super new but an earl sweatshirt album is always decent. Great rapping with some sleepy and dusty beats that have become earls bread and butter.

Juicy J - Caught Up In This Illusion
85

some great sounding jazz music with surprisingly few verses from Juicy J, but when he does have a verse it's generally really good. The production is great, and all the features really pull their weight in making this thing come together.

Rich Brian - WHERE IS MY HEAD?
98

See chance, this is how you come back after 6 years. Rich Brian's WHERE IS MY HEAD? is a monumental achievement in writing and production. The beats, which are mostly self produced by Brian as far as I know, are all consistently great, occasionally hype, occasionally beautiful, and always extremely well put together. I love especially the harder beats on here, like Serpents! or Jumpy, and especially the beat on Timezones, which is so layered and fresh sounding even with the nearly 7 ... read more

Chance the Rapper - STAR LINE
80

[edit] this is so much better than I originally gave it credit for. The highs are insanely high, and even the tracks I thought were bad at first for the most part (with exceptions) are a lot a lot better on relisten. Great comeback from Chance.
I was so excited from the first 4 tracks of this album but so much of this album just feels like nothing. The bad tracks leave me feeling nothing, the good tracks are mostly pretty decent but don't feel super interesting or unique in any way. I was ... read more

Zugz - Maybe Us
67

the production is great but I think the vocals could use a little work. For the most part, especially on the singing parts, they sound fine, but on the verse it just sounds off. Not bad but could use some work

Ayesha Erotica - precum
90

Some great sounding hyperpop with amazing production and nice sounding vocals. overall great album

twelfth - All The Foxes
80

A very faithful take on the genre with some great beats and vocals. Overall decent album

-careworn- - I FEAR THIS PLACE!!!
75

Some very chill and in my opinion calming ambient instrumental electronic music with some very decent synthwork and production. Some parts felt a little less thought out than others, but overall this is a decent project.

Moe Shop - EVO EVO
75

decent, but not super memorable or interesting to me personally

loopcinema - LOOP:GLAMOUR
95

Absolutely gorgeous layered production with some great vocals. Love the groovy beats and especially the disco influences on here. Exceptional album.

JID - God Does Like Ugly
98

Banger after banger after banger. I honestly don't know how people think this isn't up to forever story quality, every song here is a hit. All of the features do their jobs flawlessly, even fucking Baby Kia who I would have never expected to show up in a million years. JID is lyrical as always, and he kills every single track on here. The production is awesome, I love how hard so many of the beats go and I really like the beatswitches a lot, it helps make things feel fresh and ... read more

Model/Actriz - Pirouette
90

Love the dance punk style this project is going for. At its best, this album kicks ass with the grimiest guitars you've ever heard with banging drums and some unsettling vocals. While I wasn't as big a fan of the softer and slower moments, over all this project is great

Garrett Sparrow - RAMBO
69

Sounds very nice but fades into wallpaper after about halfway through. Very little song diversity, and the vocals get a little tired after a bit. The detahjae track is great tho

Desofusiony - The Cloud and The DEAD SKIES
90

Great production. I love the ambient soundscapes with the very distant sounding singing, it makes everything sound very quiet, in a way that I like a lot. The parts where there are drums or more forward instruments are also great. Very well done album.

On ItsMiseryyy's review of Ghais Guevara - The Other 2/5ths or: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Trench Baby
"Respect the opinion but I feel like it's a little weird to say whenever ghais does trap it doesn't work out considering his entire career has had major trap influence. Also I'm ngl I don't think I would call any of what hes rapped on before "jazz production" but that's definitely more up for debate."
