It takes something surprisingly special to sufficiently satiate the glass-half-empty community situated inside of AOTY’s borders.

Now I look stupid
Warning is maybe one of the best and most unique protest songs I've ever heard.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds #1
This a much more accessible brand of post-punk than what Nick would go on to work with during the 80's. It's fun and harmless. If you like Nick Cave, check this out because you get to see a completely different side to him here. Is this Marquee Moon?, no. It's still pretty awesome, especially Friends Of My World and Shivers, the outro.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds #8
This is by far him most cohesive record I've heard so far and I think that helps a lot. The second very theatrical record about a death from the seeds, but this one just feels like it has the stripped back emotion of their covers album to back up the usual post-punk mania. Specifically Sad Waters and the title track were truly fantastic and easily my favorite Nick Cave songs I've heard so far. If this is what to expect in the future I'm very ... read more
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds #7
By far the most enjoyable Nick Cave record so far. Even though it is a covers album, this record shows a big change for the band. It's far more accessible and a lot less weird than their previous two releases. It still holds on to that strange 80's post-punk that chooses terror over synths, but it also has a lot more heart than the other two. I like.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds #6
This one is a lot more digestible. While From Her To Eternity feels like stumbling through Australia's scariest street in the middle of the night before being surrounded by the country's scariest skinny 17 year old boys who are wielding wooden cricket bats and little school provided baggies of ecstasy, this album felt more like those boys' father's speeches at their funerals. It's good.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds #5
This is very strange and left me either baffled and uncomfortable. I can't say I enjoy it, but it was a positive experience if that makes any sense. The instrumentation is precise and exact, specifically the drums and bass were very impressive. They achieve their goal of simulating sonic hell very well. It's not like it's grating or really noisy or anything it just makes you feel like your humanity is being sucked out of you while you're ... read more
Way too alchemist and not nearly enough Armand hammer when we’re talking about styles on this. When it feels like Armand hammer (for example in crisis phone) they lock in, but when the alchemist takes over the tone it feels like a Freddy Gibbs song, and unfortunately for this records quality, Billy Woods and E L U C I D are not Freddie Gibbs.
im sorry this song is just really bad.
Awful vocals performing incredibly cringy and hard to listen to lyrics.
production that is simplistic in the worst way possible.
It feels like 6 minutes.
