Beach House Deep Dive: Part 2
I honestly don’t have much more to add than in my review of their debut (which you should check out it’s a literary masterpiece). It sticks to the same simplistic formula that sets them apart from the rest of the genre. Although I do think that the songwriting displayed here is a big step up from their debut (Heart of Chambers is a good example here). The instrumentation also feels more interesting.
But I do think it falls into some of the pitfalls as their debut, such as the songs blending together or the lack of stylistic changes. Overall it’s not too big an issue, but just a sign that they’re still finding their sound.
