While the quality and composition might not be as impressive as their later albums, the stripped-down rawness of the vocals, percussion, and synthesizers feels super authentic and works perfectly (in a kind of charming way).
I also personally think it stays super consistent throughout the entire, almost two-hour, 16-track run, with interesting developments along the way, all the while keeping the vibe and the beat going.
This is what it feels like to sit at the bottom of an ocean, alone, watching the fish swim by. I've never heard a creo song so peaceful. Creo totally nailed the ambient aspect by holding back all energy and build up that he usually implements (which isn't a bad thing), which made for a totally unique and real experience.
It's fun, with some cool experimenting, but it's all over the place.
Wow, this guy is extremely underrated! And he's making next-level psytrance at the same level as Infected Mushroom.
At first, it reminded me a lot of IM's *Legend of the Black Shawarma* Album, in many aspects, which I assume was a big inspiration for this album. But unlike IM's album, which emphasized vocals to grab the listener's attention and a singular style, *Lerna* experiments further with that psytrance/metal sound, and incorporates many other EDM genres along the way ... read more
