A couple of days ago I listened to Process for the first time. A friend recommended it to me because I was going on a trip to California. I had pretty much no idea what this was gonna be besides recognizing the name so it's safe to say I was in for one heck of a trip. When I finally got time to listen to it I sat down, relaxed my mind, and pressed play. As soon as I heard the first few notes I knew this was going special. Plastic 100°C is a great opening track to kick off the project. The vibes are transcendent and every time I play it I zone out. It's like the only thing I can think about while listening is the spacy instrumental and beautiful vocal performance. Kind of an odd comparison but it reminds me of Vespertine by Bjork. Both albums' first track are very layered and have this quality that makes them endlessly replayable but still mind bending. Blood On Me's instrumental is so good. Like, insanely good. As the song goes on new textures get introduced until it just explodes into a burst of sound that can only be described as beautiful. (No One Knows Me) Like The Piano is a beautiful song about how Sampha when he was younger confided in the piano a lot when he had stuff going on in his life. The piano melody is beautiful and it's very pretty to listen to. Reverse Faults' drop in the beginning is pure bliss. It gets me so hype every time. The hook is so catchy and it's an amazing track to just vibe to. Under might be one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard when it comes to pure memorability. Today I was casually walking across my school campus trying to get to class and I just randomly caught myself humming the melody to the first verse to the song. It's infectious and I absolutely love it. Overall, Process is magnificent and going back to the Vespertine comparison they do have one more thing that are alike..... they're both 10/10's.
