What a random drop from the Alc, Larry June and now with Curren$y. With the short track list and run time, I was excited to hop into some smooth instrumental/jazz hip hop/boom bap that they delivered very well with the Great Escape. With this project, having Curren$y carry with his deep entrendes and Earl Sweatshirt-like wordy delivery was impressive over these angelic, smooth beats Alc samples and makes. Larry June is just a vibe over Alc production and it’s just a blessing each time ... read more
This album is truly an excellent listen, as it is a whirlwind of genres that he suggested pre-release. You hear metal, punk, folk, jazz, west coast rap, boom bap, psychedelic rock, literally everything. One reason I really like this album off the first listen is the amount of experimentation that Rocky steps with. As it has been evident in previous projects like Testing, it feels this project accomplishes these aspects in a higher fashion. His wordplay and flow is also another plus as ... read more

Notable songs that fit more of his slower, pop rap like from previous projects include high tides, supplier interlude. Overall a chill lil mixtape for the time being and not much songs being replayed for me personally. Also to note, the best song with a great beat switch is itachi.
What a great sequel from Freddie Gibbs and the Alc. coming back into this album a majority of times, I can understand and endulge in the same sonics and era behind the Alfredo projects. With the larger track list compared to the predecessor, it has some weaker songs. These specific songs typically are weak bc of odd drum breaks that don’t fit the song, bad features that don’t match the theme of the album, or unattractive flows (including songs like Lemon Pepper Steppers, Skinny Suge ... read more
This album is different from the rappy trap stuff he plays, so I was invested to see. But it seems like the more recent project from Iann Dior where he is doing emo pop and emo rock typa music. It is fitting for his persona and his lyrical melodies like on good luck! and back by SUMMER** but I feel it is falling short of other production endeavors.
