Crypt’s best album but it’s mostly mediocre. The first four songs should have been cut; they are basic, boring ass white rapper core. Track five is actually really good, sticks to a topic and runs with it really well, solid production, and good lyrics. Tracks 6 and 7 are god awful, especially 6. Track 7 is great until Webby starts rapping (gets good again by the end). Track 8 is a really strong storytelling song, I have no real complaints with it. Track 9 takes a really serious ... read more
It is certainly better than crypt’s first album. There are definitely moments where you can tell this was made in less than a week. Most of the album suffers from the same problem as all of Crypt’s music. Some of these songs are actually pretty fun admittedly, mostly due to Nato, he Lowkey Carries. For example, Nato’s verse on Footsteps is really solid, some great lines. Crypt’s verse sounds like the rest of his music. The worst song on here is by FAR Vlog This. The ... read more
I used to love crypt’s music. I own two signed shirts from the guy. He’s a chill dude and he certainly has the ability to make good music; sadly, this album is mostly not that. The topics on this album are mostly either breakup songs or “don’t mess with me” songs. The bars on this album are cringeworthy so much of the time. The tracklist has little to no cohesion, and it bounces wildly between how good the production is. That is not to say that they’re no ... read more
My introduction to alternative hip hop of any kind. I think that this album holds up well enough. Obviously Quadeca went on to do a lot more with this song on Haunt You, but this album is still damn solid (despite the weak lyrics sometimes).
Favorite Tracks: Sisyphus, Smiling at the Ground, Can’t You See, Verglas, Maybe Another Day, Burnin Bridges/Long Day, People Pleaser, It’s All a Game, Summit (both parts)
Least Favorite: Where’d You Go
Boring and cringe ass reggae influenced Alt music.
Favorite tracks: Heavydirtysoul, Ride, Message Man, Hometown
Least favorite: fairly local
My favorite project from Phil but I feel dirty rating something so personal. Earth is one of my favorite songs ever.
There is a way to do theatrical music and a way to not do theatrical music. This is the best example of Theater music I’ve ever heard. Issacs vocals coupled with the incredible instrumentals make for a most joyous listen.
Favorite tracks: Chaos Space Marine, Concorde, Bread Song, Good Will Hunting, Haldern, Mark’s Theme, The Place Where He Inserted the Blade, Snow Globes, Basketball Shoes
Least Favorite track: None
This album is incredibly easy to listen to, despite all the depressing lyrics. There’s a lot of good in this album that weighs out the few mediocre sections. The somber moments are definitely the best on the album, as some of the groovier songs sound a little out of place. Also, the album cover is really cool.
Favorite tracks: Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor, Going to Your Funeral Pt 1, My Descent into Madness, Hospital Food, Electro-Shock Blues, Last Stop: This Town, Climbing to the ... read more
This album has truly stumped me. The first 4 tracks are fantastic. They capture a magical sound that feels exactly like winter. Then the next few tracks are boring, and some just bad. Then the last two tracks are like the first four. The album has a lot of cohesion in the way songs transition, but the real meat of a lot of the tracks is all over the place.
Favorites: Isle Unto Thyself, Black Rainbows, White Ball, Stranded Lullaby, Dream Sweet in Sea Major
Least Favorite: Labyrinth
Aoty so far as far as I’m concerned. Very sparse, gorgeous and terrifying instrumentals, frantic vocals and interesting lyrics. The only issue is that some songs drag on a little too long, particularly Halloween or Something.
Seriously one of the most interesting musical experiences you could ever have. You are seriously missing out if you don’t check out this album.
