Soft Error

Is it just me, or is Yves possibly the best K-Pop solo artist… EVER?. I’m not using that lightly, and I genuinely think she is going to start breaking through the mainstream with this EP. Sucks it will probably just be for the PinkPantheress collab but whatever, any attention brought to my GOAT is a win for me.

This is such a well constructed and thought out EP that it’s kind of remarkable, you don’t see consistently like this every day. Every song has a unique flavour while maintaining both it’s quality and cohesiveness.

‘White Cat’ is such a good hook and single for this album, I personally think ‘Viola’ is by far her best song still but this song is in the same ballpark for sure, so lively and fresh sounding.

‘Soap’ is a song that samples Rebecca Black’s ‘Sugar Water Cyanide’ and features PinkPantheress and it is a BANG-ERRR! The sample is only like a ten second thing at the start and the end, but the fact that she samples Rebecca Black at all is like wow… my gorl is getting CONNECTED!. PinkPantheress fits so naturally on this song.

‘Aibo’ It is pretty clear at this point that this EP is like a more energetic ‘I Did’ and honestly I think this EP is turning out to be the better project here. I don’t know who Bratty is but their vibe is pretty fun. Also a fan of the instruments on here.

‘Do you feel it like I touch’ Is a change of pace on this project for sure, I was unsure about it at the start then it kicks in, and it hits you so nicely. It builds up very well and I think it is great and that beat change? *muah*.

‘Study’ Is a transitional moment, don’t know if I like it as much and is maybe the weakest track on here, but is very unique on this EP, and when it all comes together it does sound pretty good regardless.

‘Mom’ Nice and soft way to end the project, feels natural and lush, doesn’t do much other than that, but it’s nice.

Yves is actually my GOAT… 😭😭😭 PLEASE give her the respect she earns.
