Being able to experience and listen to this album is the greatest blessing I have. Judged and underestimated, the rep era undoubtedly marked Swift's life, and not only hers. The concept of loving amidst darkness sums up this project well, and the concept of love can be used in many ways. My favorite is "Delicate", and I will carry it with me for the rest of my life because only I and my Spotify know all the feelings I've experienced listening to these lyrics over the years. ... read more
This was the first time I listened to a Lady Gaga album in its entirety, and this music made me feel powerful, free, and with a strong urge to dance. There's impeccable cohesion from beginning to end, vibrant instrumentals, and soulful vocals. Gaga nailed it in a way that almost no living artist could, and tbh is my favorite album to win AOTY at the next GRAMMYs. This artist certainly deserves everything she has already achieved (which is to say, the whole world).
The best thing about an album is being able to listen to it repeatedly to form a final opinion, and "Man's Best Friend" evolves in a precious way. Sure, there are songs that don't stand out, but there are many hits on the album's tracklist that deserve a lot of recognition. Jack Antonoff applied his best formula to tracks like "My Man On Willpower" and "Manchild", and Sabrina's vocals on "When Did You Get Hot?" and "Tears" ... read more
It's a beautiful debut album, and it becomes even more so when you see the evolution the artist would have over time. Even back then, her compositions were already remarkable, even though they were focused on the small and sentimental world of a country teenager. It's what I like least, but the impact of "Taylor Swift" on the world and on the singer's development is undeniable.
revisiting this album is like being transported back to your youth; the eighties are a blast. feeling like a teenager amidst the most infectious pop vibe of 2014 is the most impactful meaning this album can receive, and the singles remain as ascendant as ever. along with "folklore (2020)", this album undeniably deserved to win Album of the Year.
I am so enchanted and speechless. I've never seen a story told this way on an album, and I was hooked until the very end. The "A Ninth Wave" side is brilliant. "Running Up That Hill" remains my favorite; I thank a famous Netflix series for introducing me to this sonic masterpiece. "Cloudbusting" and "Jig Of Life" follows closely behind—what an incredible songs. Kate Bush is far more of an artist than I thought, and she created this 40 years ago.
I guess thinking "wow, if there was such and such an adjustment, this would be so much better" whenever I listen to each one of the songs became my pastime, and I wonder how the 3 producers didn't have these thoughts during the album's creation. best overall song: "The Fate of Ophelia", it's so addictive and the charm in the lyrics and melody make it deserve the success it's having; best composition is in "Father Figure". Taylor brought her ... read more
