the production is so boring that i almost didn't realise how good the lyricism and vocal performance is
shockingly enough she's doing the whole indie thing better than most indie artists this decade. i'm excited for the new album
i definitely had high expectations after listening to floodland and while there was nothing that really wowed me (except for the last track), i still thoroughly enjoyed listening through this. it does get repetitive after a while but its cohesive and consistent
better than I anticipated! the highs are very high and the lows... need to grow on me (or I won't bother returning to them because I'm not used to this genre of music yet lol)
this is a MAJOR step up from EP 1. I'm rooting for these two so badly they need to drop a full length album already
kinda mid towards the end but everything else is so catchy and fun to listen to
very repetitive at times but i don't really mind. i love the haunting atmosphere in the songs + musette and drums is outstanding anyway
i've really tried to get the hype around this album but i just don't. there's lots of objectively good tracks and the production throughout this project is probably the best thing about it, but apart from that i just... don't really care for about 80% of this album. i don't think there's more than 3 tracks that i'd find worth returning to despite how good they are
i kinda went into this album expecting most of the tracks to resonate with me the same way mad world and pale shelter did, but still a solid 80s project nonetheless
this one didn't really stick out to me at first but lots of tracks have grown on me recently.
favs: moving, the saxophone song, kite, wuthering heights, oh to be in love
very good project but there are some songs where i can't stand the how the vocals are delivered sometimes
unlike her previous albums, i kinda struggled to connect with some of the instrumentation choices on this one. despite that, its still undeniably creative and funeral is a masterpiece, but so far this is my least favourite of hers
